Just when the mood was so high, an old man in Henan found a Japanese wounded soldier near his home, and with compassion, he actually adopted him for 47 years.
In 1945, the war against the invaders had reached its final stages, and Japan had been fighting overseas for a long time, encountering strong resistance and was already exhausted. Before they formally surrendered, they had anticipated that they would not be able to win the war, so they were already speeding up their withdrawal from our country and quickly fleeing back to Japan. In order to evacuate as soon as possible, they ruthlessly abandoned the slow wounded, and one of the wounded soldiers, Ishida Higashishiro, was abandoned in Henan.
Seriously injured in a foreign country, with a lack of language and the hatred of the people, Ishida Toshishiro could not make a living and could only beg along the street. In 1946, he met a kind old man on the street, Sun Bangjun, a farmer who set up a stall in the market, and when he came out to make money as usual, he saw Ishida appear next to his stall, and the poor-looking Ishida did not receive everyone's help, because the villagers knew that the beggar was a Japanese soldier, and he came from a country that had caused them countless pains and disasters.
When Sun Bangjun wanted to help Ishida, some people even dissuaded him not to sympathize with the enemy. Although he also hated the enemy in his heart, for the miserable person in front of him, the kind-hearted Sun Bangjun could not bear it and distributed his dry food to him. Ishida received help and stayed next to Sun Bangjun, when he saw Sun Bangjun planning to pack up his things and go home, he begged him in the hope that Sun Bangjun could help him, and in the end, Ishida was taken home by Sun Bangjun, had food, clothing and shelter, and the wounds on his body were also healed.
Neighbors were very puzzled after getting this news, and some emotional villagers even spoke ill of Sun Bangjun, but Sun Bangjun did not abandon Ishida. After the passage of time, people are not as hostile to Ishida as they were at the beginning, and they no longer look at him with special eyes, it is not that the villagers have forgotten the pain and hatred of the past wars, they see that Ishida has always been very honest and diligent, and they are no longer tit-for-tat. The kind Sun Bangjun has always taken care of Ishida and hopes that he will be reunited with his family one day, and before he dies, he entrusts this wish to his son, hoping that he can help Ishida return home.
Sun Baojie embarked on the road to find relatives for Ishida, but he had very few clues, and Ishida was deaf and mute, making the hope of finding relatives very slim. But Sun Baojie never gave up, and in 1990, he published Ishida's search notice in a Japanese newspaper, and finally, Ishida's comrades recognized him from the photos on the notice and helped Ishida contact his family. In 1993, Ishida, who had been adopted by the Sun family for 47 years, finally returned to his homeland to reunite with his relatives.
Ishida Higashishiro's relatives are very grateful to Sun Baojie's family, and according to legend, in order to repay their kindness, the Ishida family has made up a large amount of money to give to the Sun family as a reward, but Sun Baojie is unwilling to accept it. The kind Sun family has been taking care of Ishida for 47 years, and has helped him find his family without asking for anything in return, and the kind and simple people, although weak, still have a sense of compassion. We must not forget the pain of war, but it is only a small number of extremists who provoke war, and human emotions are connected and all have the desire for peace, because war brings destruction, and peace is the hope for human survival.
