After the founding of The People's Republic of China, he was transferred to the Chengdu Military Region as a deputy commander, and in 1955 he was awarded the title of "Founding Major General". When Li Wenqing was serving in the Northern Sichuan Military Region, he once returned to his hometown, and when the landlord Li Er heard about it, he was worried that his temper was going to come back to seek revenge, and he was so frightened that he immediately hanged himself.
