Do you know what Taifu (referring to Sima Yi) meant when he said that he was bedridden? Shi Jian's fans stared at him in disbelief: "The prime minister has not been in the court many times, give him a ruler and a long edict to let him go home, why should you worry about it!" Shan Tao said, "Alas, sad, old stone!" Wake up, don't fight back and forth between the hooves of the horse! ”
Shan Tao finally chose to abandon the official charm and go away. Sure enough, it wasn't long before Sima Yi took advantage of Cao Shuang's outing to launch a coup d'état and destroy the Cao Shuang clique, and Cao Wei's power completely fell into sima shi's hands from then on.

Maybe you can say that he slipped his head, but in the official arena this is precisely a kind of wisdom, which is why so many "celebrities" and "literati" cannot become officials, and even if they become officials, they are depressed.
Shantao will not only be an official, but also a good official.
For example, when ShanTao was serving in the history of Jizhou, the official atmosphere in Jizhou at that time was very bad, corrupt officials and mediocre officials were in charge, and they did not attach importance to the selection of talents, and the whole Of Jizhou was a mess. After Shantao arrived at his post, he made a secret visit, searched for talents everywhere and recorded them, and successively appointed more than thirty people, so the customs of Jizhou changed, opening a precedent for advocating talents to promote talents.
After the establishment of the Western Jin Dynasty, he was relied on by Emperor Wu of Jinwu as an important courtier, first named Xinpuzi, and then promoted to the rank of Xinbao, and then to the rank of Xinpuzi, and then to the rank of Xinpubo, and then to the post of Xinpubo, who was transferred to Jizhou Assassin History, Shizhong, Shangshu of the Bureaucracy, Prince Shaofu, Left Servant, Right Servant, Situ, etc., and held the positions of Third Duke, which can be described as a high authority, but Shantao was a clean official, not greedy and not occupied, and would not be skillfully plundered, so the family has always been poor.
How poor is it?
Shantao was so poor that even the emperor could not look down on it, and Emperor Wu of Jin, because Shantao was incorruptible and difficult to support his family, specially gave him the vouchers he provided every day, plus a bed tent and mattress, and the etiquette was unmatched at that time.

Shantao is not only a good official, but also a good person.
This sounds very simple, but it is really not easy to do it, some people may be a good person in life, but they are not a good official in the official field, they have no courage, lack of wrist, low emotional intelligence, and eventually end up as a mediocre official or a faint official; some people may be a good official, but in the field of family life and personal life, they are cold and ruthless and selfless, so that they rebel...
Shan tao in the dynasty can be loyal to the country and the king, at home can filial piety and respect for the elderly, to the chaff wife with single-mindedness, not to mention the feudal era, even today, it is not easy to entrust.
Just say three things.
The first thing was that he was very filial to his old mother. After Emperor Wu Sima Yan took the throne, Shantao was heavily used, and gradually became a pillar of the Western Jin Dynasty, and finally ranked as the Third Duke, which can be described as a high-powered and popular position, but Shantao was not greedy for power, he asked for resignation because his mother was old and needed to serve, Emperor Wu was not allowed, he repeatedly submitted his resignation letter, before and after as many as more than ten times, it can be seen that in Shantao's eyes, it is definitely more important to give the old mother than to be an official.
When Shantao's mother died, Shantao was also over seventy years old, which was already an ancient and rare year in ancient times, but he guarded the funeral for his mother more than the usual ceremony, personally carrying the soil to pile the grave and planting pines with his own hands. Emperor Wu appointed Shan Tao as the official Shangshu. Shan Tao resigned on the grounds of his mother's death, and his expression of affection made people cry.
The second thing is that he is devoted to his wife. Shantao's wife, Han Shi, and Shantao's relationship has always been very good. Before ShanTao became an official, the family was surrounded by disciples, but Han never complained. One day, ShanTao said to her, "Mother! You put up with the hunger and cold of the present for the time being, I will definitely be ranked as the third duke in the future, but I don't know if you will do it to the third duke when the time comes. Later, Shantao was really noble, but he did not "change his face as soon as he got rich" like others, he was still decent and frugal, although he was the same as the king of a thousand multiplications, but he never raised concubines - this can be said more, in ancient times, it was normal for men to have three wives and four concubines, and it was also a graceful affair to hide in the outer room of the golden house, which was not a big deal!
But Shantao did not put the outer room, nor did he raise three or four, and there was only one old wife who was chaff in his life!
It is no wonder that Wang Rong, who is also the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest, praised Shantao's "jade and gold": "Shantao is like unpolished jade and unmelted gold." People tend to admire the dazzling appearance of jade and gold, but they are unaware of their inner noble texture of unpolished jade and unmelted gold. ”
