"Qingwei" needy man: a famous courtier in the dynasty, a warm man at home

Text/Tang monk

Speaking of Shantao, young friends who know a little about literary history may be full of hatred, thinking that he is a despicable villain, a shameful traitor, and a complete official fan, but another opinion that is diametrically opposed will certainly jump out at the first time to oppose it - most of the people who hold this opinion are middle-aged and elderly people who have gone through the vicissitudes of the world and are familiar with the history of ancient Chinese literature, and they almost hold Shantao on the clouds, thinking that he is almost perfect, and he is a typical big winner in life...

Originally when a piece of big brother's kind recommendation Ji Kang came out to be an official, but did not expect that the good heart was treated as a donkey liver lung, Sheng Sheng was ji Kang's face was full of ashes, and the open letter Renunciation with Shan Juyuan was no different from Shantao's hood and threw a bucket of, almost two thousand years later, the bucket of stinky still did not disperse, whenever people mentioned Shantao and remembered the letter, the bubble was vividly emitted.

That letter is really too long, translated into our big vernacular is even longer, I will only choose two of them for everyone to ponder how sharp Ji Kang's words are, it is like a knife piercing Shantao's heart socket ——

“...... Do not see yourself as a good Zhang Fu, stronger than the people to wen crown also; they are addicted to stink and rot, and raise ducks and chicks to die rats also. ”

Replace it with today's vernacular:

You old gentleman can't force people to wear a gorgeous hat because he loves it, regardless of what others think; you can't feed the eagle with dead rats (your favorite) because you like to eat rotten and smelly food.

Who is Ji Kang? That is the face value of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest, and there are many fans who regard him as the spiritual leader of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest.

A song called "Guangling San" reverberated forever over Luoyang, and three thousand Taixue disciples solidified into a monument to Ji Kang's towering clouds.

He was Shantao's closest friend, as close as a brother.

But this brother wrote the letter of renunciation, and scolded the old brother who recommended him to come out as an official! It really responded to the sentence "The closest person hurts you the most." But the question came again, this Ji Kang scolded ShanTao to the point of bloodshed, why did he entrust his own children to Shantao before he died—he Ji Kang had his own brother Ji Xi—and he was not ashamed to say such a thing as "The giant source is here, Er waiting is not alone"?

I think Shan Tao should also ten thousand horses galloping in his heart when he hears this - your old boy scolded me to become a stinky left over for thousands of years, you have been addicted to the limelight, and at this time I think of Lao Tzu, you think lao tzu is your family's slave, let you drink it?

What is even more strange is that Shan Tao is really as Ji Kang said, he regards the pair of children left by Ji Kang as his own, and after raising his daughter, he marries him with beautiful scenery, and even recommends an official position for Ji Shao, who has grown up at the right time.

Imagine being a father, but that's it. Looking back at Ji Kang's sentence before his execution, he said, "The giant source is here, and Er is not alone." This shows that Ji Kang regards ShanTao as his dearest brother from the bottom of his heart, a brother who is more reliable than his own brother Ji Xi!

What does it mean that "the giant source is here, and Er waits is not alone"?

I personally think a more accurate understanding should be: "As long as Shantao (Dad) is there, you are not a fatherless child!" ”

Shan Tao really lived up to expectations, seeing Ji Kang's children as his own children, and the ones who should be married were sent to marry, and the talents who should have become talents were cultivated, and finally found the right time to recommend this "not alone" Ji Shao into the Shi. Don't forget, Shantao is not short of children, his wife Han has given birth to five boys and two girls to Shantao, not so much his rare children, but rather that he cherishes ji kang's inner trust and trust in him: this may be the most precious thing in Shantao's view.

Shantao is very suitable for being an official.

Speaking of Shantao becoming an official, in fact, in the end, it is still based on the relationship between the family (his cousin's two sons: Sima Shi and Sima Zhao), of course, this relationship is only a stepping stone at most, and what kind of final development into this door depends on personal comprehensive strength.

His personality is very calm and introverted, in our current words, there is a city government, mood and anger are not colorful, and he does not speak. No matter who the other party is, he can deal with it better, rather than "blue and white eyes" like Ruan Zhi who can't move, nor is he as passionate and fierce as Ji Kang. So it's rare to offend people, let alone make enemies.

He will be an official, good at judging the hour and sizing up the situation, soberly analyzing the situation and weighing the pros and cons, speaking when he should speak, and being silent when he should not.

He was not as self-effacing as ordinary literati, and in this regard he belonged to a typical "pragmatism", such as he used his kinship to meet Sima Shi, and at the behest of Sima Shi, he was recommended as Mao cai and elected as an official, and began to enter the career path. Perhaps because of this, many people scolded him for becoming inflammatory, but this just reflects his way of dealing with the world.

But Shantao's official did not continue all the way from then on, and there was a period of time in between when he resigned. This is not that he has committed anything, nor is he tired of the officialdom, but from this incident, it just shows Shantao's amazing insight, the so-called small and knowledgeable, this political acumen and accurate foresight ability is not something that any official can possess!

It is said that one day, Shantao was sleeping with his colleague Shi Jian, and when he got up in the middle of the night, he suddenly kicked Shi Jian with his foot and said, "When is it, why are you still sleeping?" Do you know what Taifu (referring to Sima Yi) meant when he said that he was bedridden? Shi Jian's fans stared at him in disbelief: "The prime minister has not been in the court many times, give him a ruler and a long edict to let him go home, why should you worry about it!" Shan Tao said, "Alas, sad, old stone!" Wake up, don't fight back and forth between the hooves of the horse! ”

Shan Tao finally chose to abandon the official charm and go away. Sure enough, it wasn't long before Sima Yi took advantage of Cao Shuang's outing to launch a coup d'état and destroy the Cao Shuang clique, and Cao Wei's power completely fell into sima shi's hands from then on.

It is difficult to mix in the official field, to dump each other, to fight with each other, to overturn the ship without paying attention, to lose official affairs, and to lose one's life and even to affect the lives of the whole family or the whole family. However, Shantao retired from the official field from the age of forty to the age of seventy-seven, no matter which master was in power, and no matter which powerful minister gained power, Shantao could influence the source, simply a "tumbler" in the official field, really an "old oiler". For example, during his tenure in his later years, Zhong Hui and Pei Xiu fought for power and profit, and Shantao properly handled the relationship with the two, impartial, so that no one could say anything, on the contrary, they all felt that Shantao Dun was thick and credible, and this alone was not convinced by people - do you know that the powerful Zhong Hui is a typical villain, Shantao's friend Ji Kang was framed to death by him because he offended Zhong Hui, it is said that Zhong Hui also wanted to frame Ruan Yuan, repeatedly went to Ruan Zhi to comment on current politics, but Ruan Zhi did not eat this set, and every time he was drunk and could not speak to avoid it perfectly!

Maybe you can say that he slipped his head, but in the official arena this is precisely a kind of wisdom, which is why so many "celebrities" and "literati" cannot become officials, and even if they become officials, they are depressed.

Shantao will not only be an official, but also a good official.

For example, when ShanTao was serving in the history of Jizhou, the official atmosphere in Jizhou at that time was very bad, corrupt officials and mediocre officials were in charge, and they did not attach importance to the selection of talents, and the whole Of Jizhou was a mess. After Shantao arrived at his post, he made a secret visit, searched for talents everywhere and recorded them, and successively appointed more than thirty people, so the customs of Jizhou changed, opening a precedent for advocating talents to promote talents.

After the establishment of the Western Jin Dynasty, he was relied on by Emperor Wu of Jinwu as an important courtier, first named Xinpuzi, and then promoted to the rank of Xinbao, and then to the rank of Xinpuzi, and then to the rank of Xinpubo, and then to the post of Xinpubo, who was transferred to Jizhou Assassin History, Shizhong, Shangshu of the Bureaucracy, Prince Shaofu, Left Servant, Right Servant, Situ, etc., and held the positions of Third Duke, which can be described as a high authority, but Shantao was a clean official, not greedy and not occupied, and would not be skillfully plundered, so the family has always been poor.

How poor is it?

Shantao was so poor that even the emperor could not look down on it, and Emperor Wu of Jin, because Shantao was incorruptible and difficult to support his family, specially gave him the vouchers he provided every day, plus a bed tent and mattress, and the etiquette was unmatched at that time.

Shan Tao understands the "unspoken rules" of the officialdom, and even if he is very dismissive of such black-box operations, he will certainly not use his "single-handedness" to "touch the egg to the stone" in order to fight for a clean and upright reputation. For example, when Shantao was serving as the official Shangshu, there was a county commander in Shandong, Yuan Yi, who embezzled and bribed the secretary of state, and also gave Shantao a hundred pounds of silk, although Shantao did not want to receive it, but if he refused to offend not only the small county order, but the entire official field at that time, so Shantao wrapped the silk, attached a seal, and hung it on the beam, and later Yuan Yi's evil deeds were exposed, he was arrested and punished, and all the people he bribed were prosecuted, and Shantao took the silk out and handed it to the officials, and there was dust on the top area for many years, but the seal was as good as ever.

Shantao is not only a good official, but also a good person.

This sounds very simple, but it is really not easy to do it, some people may be a good person in life, but they are not a good official in the official field, they have no courage, lack of wrist, low emotional intelligence, and eventually end up as a mediocre official or a faint official; some people may be a good official, but in the field of family life and personal life, they are cold and ruthless and selfless, so that they rebel...

"Qingwei" needy man: a famous courtier in the dynasty, a warm man at home

Shan tao in the dynasty can be loyal to the country and the king, at home can filial piety and respect for the elderly, to the chaff wife with single-mindedness, not to mention the feudal era, even today, it is not easy to entrust.

Just say three things.

The first thing was that he was very filial to his old mother. After Emperor Wu Sima Yan took the throne, Shantao was heavily used, and gradually became a pillar of the Western Jin Dynasty, and finally ranked as the Third Duke, which can be described as a high-powered and popular position, but Shantao was not greedy for power, he asked for resignation because his mother was old and needed to serve, Emperor Wu was not allowed, he repeatedly submitted his resignation letter, before and after as many as more than ten times, it can be seen that in Shantao's eyes, it is definitely more important to give the old mother than to be an official.

When Shantao's mother died, Shantao was also over seventy years old, which was already an ancient and rare year in ancient times, but he guarded the funeral for his mother more than the usual ceremony, personally carrying the soil to pile the grave and planting pines with his own hands. Emperor Wu appointed Shan Tao as the official Shangshu. Shan Tao resigned on the grounds of his mother's death, and his expression of affection made people cry.

The second thing is that he is devoted to his wife. Shantao's wife, Han Shi, and Shantao's relationship has always been very good. Before ShanTao became an official, the family was surrounded by disciples, but Han never complained. One day, ShanTao said to her, "Mother! You put up with the hunger and cold of the present for the time being, I will definitely be ranked as the third duke in the future, but I don't know if you will do it to the third duke when the time comes. Later, Shantao was really noble, but he did not "change his face as soon as he got rich" like others, he was still decent and frugal, although he was the same as the king of a thousand multiplications, but he never raised concubines - this can be said more, in ancient times, it was normal for men to have three wives and four concubines, and it was also a graceful affair to hide in the outer room of the golden house, which was not a big deal!

But Shantao did not put the outer room, nor did he raise three or four, and there was only one old wife who was chaff in his life!

It is no wonder that Wang Rong, who is also the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest, praised Shantao's "jade and gold": "Shantao is like unpolished jade and unmelted gold." People tend to admire the dazzling appearance of jade and gold, but they are unaware of their inner noble texture of unpolished jade and unmelted gold. ”
