In 119 BC, in order to open up the Western Regions, Zhang Qian once again took on the important task of sending envoys to the Western Regions.
However, this time, Zhang Qian carried 300 envoys, and brought many precious Han Dynasty gold coins and silk veils, 10,000 cattle and sheep, and a huge soup, and there was no need to fear the Xiongnu to capture themselves.
This mission to the Western Regions allowed Zhang Qian to establish friendly passages with various parts of the Western Regions, and exchanged goods, bringing pomegranates, grapes, walnuts and other Western products to the Han. After this, Zhang Qian's body gradually weakened and he died in 114 BC, but posterity remembers Zhang Qian's exploits.
