Among the five types of books, seal, li, true, line, and grass, lishu is usually considered to be the most beginner-friendly one. Why is Lishu easy to get started with?
I think one of the important reasons is that the gestures of the lishu are relatively simple - horizontal and vertical, unlike the accustomed to oblique shoulder-to-shoulder calligraphy, which has many complex and subtle aspects of spatial structure.
However, this horizontal and vertical feature of the Book of Arift can also become a "trap" for many beginners if you are not careful.
Because horizontal and vertical are too easy to write, if we continue to write along this inertia, our subordinate books are likely to flow into "common books".
What is "customary"? The Qing Dynasty scholar Duan Yujie said that the layman, Xi Ye. By extension, it is said that it is effective.
Translated into vernacular, that is, to write according to the routine that everyone can think of, and not to write a little unexpected artistic conception, this is customary.
And the most easily thought of writing in the book, is it not horizontal and vertical?
How to break the inertial thinking of horizontal and vertical, so that our lishu can get rid of vulgar fun?
An easy way to do this is to use slashes wisely.
In fact, "Zhang Qianbei" has left a lot of valuable experience in this regard. Take the word "Zhang" as an example.
The method of using slashes in this word in "Zhang Qianbei" is the most obvious of which are two. One:
This is a "Zhang" character that has been written in the previous daily class. It is characterized by the creation of diagonal lines by adjusting the angle of local lines under the premise of maintaining a large frame of horizontal and vertical vertical in the whole word.
This is a scheme with a smaller adjustment and a relatively small creative risk.
Another, more radical option is:
Compared with the previous "Zhang" character, except for the last wave, the rest of the structure of this word has been "lifted", and they are together with the last wave, forming a stable structure of the "human" glyph.
In this word, there is no "horizontal flat" in the strict sense, but it still does not lose the style characteristics of the book's breadth and stability.
