At the end of the year, many people are busy writing a summary and reviewing the gains and losses of the year.
So, what kind of summary should we write about the ICT industry in 2021?
According to the usual practice, the focus of the last issue of "Communication World" every year is "annual inventory", from the perspective of the media, combing through the major news, industrial development and technological evolution that occurred in the industry this year. When the editor put the "TOP 10 NEWS of the ICT Industry in 2021" on my desk, one word came out of my heart: "Steady progress".
Indeed, in the past 2021, the information and communication industry has developed very "steadily".
From the implementation of the "Sail" action plan for 5G applications, to the launch of the "East Counting West" project, and then to the release of the "14th Five-Year Plan" series of plans for the information and communication industry, it can be seen that in the development of the information and communication industry, government departments and industries have been steadily advancing in accordance with the established plan. Taking the development of 5G as an example, in the past two years of commercial use, operators have focused on 5G network construction, and this year they have focused on deep coverage and on-demand coverage, with more than one million 5G base stations, and built the world's largest 5G SA network. At the same time of network construction, 5G applications are also being carried out in an orderly manner, and the implementation of the "5G Application "Sail" Action Plan (2021-2023) has enabled 5G to cover 22 important industries of the national economy, and the application scenarios of vertical industries such as industrial manufacturing, mining, and ports have accelerated the scale of landing, and have expanded from the initial production auxiliary business to the core business of equipment control and quality control.
Another example is the launch of the "East Counting West Calculation" project, from the "Action Plan for the Coordinated Development of Dual Gigabit Networks (2021-2023)" to the "Three-Year Special Action Plan for IPv6 Traffic Improvement (2021-2023)" to the "Three-Year Action Plan for the Development of New Data Centers (2021-2023)", everything is a natural model.
Therefore, behind the waves is the steady and orderly development of the information and communication industry.
Even, the three major operators delisted in the United States, Meng Wanzhou triumphantly returned to China, everything is carried out according to the established plan, there is no mountain in the world that cannot be turned over, do your own thing.
As the opening year of the "14th Five-Year Plan", building a solid network foundation and laying a good foundation for digital construction is the main task of the information and communication industry in 2021. On the basis of steady progress, the information and communication industry has ushered in the era of computing power and ushered in the era of meta-universe. In fact, looking back at the past 20 years, China has been at the top of the tide of the information age; then in the second 20 years starting from 2021, China will surely be the leader of a new generation of science and technology.
Bidding farewell to the "steady progress" of 2021 and ushering in a vibrant 2022, we are stepping out of our own scientific and technological development path step by step, and the "encirclement and blocking" of others cannot stop the development of China's science and technology industry.
