Most of his concubines were politically married, especially his first two empresses, who his mother had found him from the Mongol tribes. But among his concubines, his favorite is Still Concubine Dong. However, this concubine had a red face and a short life, her child died shortly after birth, and even she herself died shortly after the death of the child, and the Shunzhi Emperor was unable to bear the blow to him because of the death of Concubine Dong, so in the end he chose to become a monk, which also became the fuse for him to become a monk.
Shunzhi was the first official emperor after the entry of the Qing Dynasty, and he seemed to have a great admiration for the Catholic school. It is said that at that time, the Catholic Tang John wang went to Beijing to preach, but in fact he was just a missionary, but when he arrived in Shunzhi, he was named a Pinjing official. Later, when she had a deep understanding of Catholicism, he felt that he was not suitable, so he began to study Buddhism.
The monk who guided him in his Buddhist studies was called Yulin Xiu, a high monk. Under his leadership, the Shunzhi Emperor was even more fascinated by Buddhism, and even wanted to worship him as a master, and it was a matter of wearing a high hat for himself by the emperor, so Yulin Xiu quickly agreed, and he gave Shunzhi a legal name called Xingdao. It is said that Shunzhi believed in Buddhism because he had accumulated too much suffering in his heart for many years.
His father died when he was young, and he was put on the throne by his mother and Dorgon, and although he was an emperor, he never held power. Finally, he waited until the death of the regent Dorgon, and he could become a real emperor with real power, but he did not know anything about the major affairs of the country, and there was no one to deal with him. His long-term psychological depression has no place to release the pressure, so Buddhism has become his best way to talk.
After The death of Concubine Dong, the Shunzhi Emperor thought of taking refuge in Buddhism, and at that time, just in time when his master Yulin Xiu was not in Beijing, he had been studying with another disciple of Shunzhi and Yulin Xiu, Xingsen, who told Xingsen that he wanted to shave his head as a monk, and Xingsen began to shave his hair without even thinking about it. Xiao Zhuang was resolutely opposed to this matter, after all, this throne was not easy to come by. But no matter how Xiaozhuang persuaded, Shunzhi did not listen, and in the end there was no way, Xiaozhuang could only let Yulin Xiu help persuade.
It is said that at that time, Yulin Xiu wanted to build a high platform and burn Xingsen to death, and the Shunzhi Emperor definitely did not agree. Yulin Xiu said that if you are a living person, it is my apprentice, and I burn him to death, you can't stop him. But if you become emperor, I must listen to you and let Xingsen go. Under this persecution, Shunzhi gave up the idea of becoming a monk and obediently sat back down with his emperor. However, a year later, Shunzhi suffered from the same disease as Dong Efei and died soon after.
In fact, the Shunzhi Emperor became a monk, just because he did not want to face the pain of life, the pressure of national events, the death of the woman he liked, and the pressure in his heart was nowhere to say, so he thought of taking refuge in Buddhism for a hundred, which was just a way for him to escape from life.
