In the cold winter, many people have such a feeling, obviously have been applied to the body lotion, the body is still dry and itchy, always can't help but want to scratch, dander will fall like snowflakes, making people very embarrassed.
In this regard, Yuan Chen, a dermatologist at the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, introduced that every winter, the skin's oil secretion and water content will be less than in summer, the barrier on the surface of the skin will become weaker, and the epidermal nerve will be more sensitive to the outside world. People with incorrect living habits and special skin problems may have dry, itchy and scaly skin at this time.
"Many people like hot water to wash in winter, after the hot water stimulates the skin, if you do not dry the moisture on the surface of the skin in time, this moisture will take away more moisture from the skin when it evaporates, making the skin more dry." Yuan Chen pointed out that some skin disease patients, such as psoriasis patients, atopic dermatitis patients, ichthyosis patients and keratosis patients, etc., their skin itself is drier than ordinary people, and winter is more likely to have such problems.
In addition, the elderly and children are also more likely than others to have dry and itchy skin in winter. "This is because the ability of the elderly to secrete oil in the limbs is weaker than that of young people, and the sebaceous glands of children before puberty have not yet been fully developed, and the sebaceous membrane is weaker." Yuan Chen explained.
In view of the problem of dry and itchy skin in winter, Yuan Chen put forward the following suggestions:
Reduce bathing frequency
People bathe 1-2 times a week is appropriate; for people who are accustomed to bathing daily, they should avoid using a bath towel to "rub mud"; after bathing, the water on the body should be dried within three minutes, and emollient should be applied in time; the water temperature for bathing and washing feet should not be too high to avoid itching caused by heat stimulation.
Protect your hands
For housewives who repeatedly touch the washing products with their hands, they can wear rubber gloves when doing housework, and for medical workers who are often exposed to disinfectant, minimize the number of handwashes. Apply hand cream as soon as possible after each wash.
Avoid scratching repeatedly
Even if you feel itchy, try not to scratch repeatedly with your hands to avoid causing other skin problems. If the itching is particularly severe, you can gently pat the skin; if the skin lotion alone cannot solve the itching problem, go to the dermatology department of the hospital in time.
