Led by the National Hebei Chengde Sports Training Base, Chengde has built ice and snow venues, strengthened scientific and technological empowerment, promoted the popularization of ice and snow, and promoted the ice and snow industry to enter the fast lane.
The National Hebei Chengde Sports Training Base is located in the Saihanbaya Plateau of Yudaokou Ranch Management Area of Chengde City, covering an area of 2707.2 hectares. The climate, environment and track design of the base are basically the same as the cross-country skiing and biathlon competition venues of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, providing high-quality training venues for national training teams such as cross-country skiing, biathlon and Nordic biathlon and ice and snow sports teams in our province.
The National Hebei Chengde Sports Training Base is not only a first-class hardware facility, but also a frontier position for "science and technology to help the Olympic Games". The disc ski skater in the base is the world's first self-designed indoor skiing and skating simulation equipment; the country's first set of speed skating, short track speed skating, figure skating and curling training functions in one of the "four-in-one" ice sports complex; 7.5 km cross-country ski track difficulty standard exceeds the Winter Olympic Chongli competition venue, of which 2.5 km air film project for the four seasons of the "land snow cave", is the longest snow cave in the country.
In order to comprehensively promote the promotion and popularization of ice and snow sports, the city and county levels have made efforts at multiple points to form a joint force. Increase the construction of ice and snow venues, achieve full coverage of indoor public skating venues, take the "ice and snow caravan" and "community ice and snow games" as the carrier, set off a new climax of grass-roots ice and snow sports; rely on rich ice and snow resources and unique history and culture, to create ice hockey, speed skating, snowmobiles, ice dragon boats and other brand events. Up to now, the number of people participating in ice and snow sports in chengde counties and urban areas has reached 2.113 million.
