Let the enemy not live a good Christmas? Don't let it go, fight! Tu Boyi, a Korean War veteran, recalled

As the saying goes, draught water does not forget to dig wells, and now we can live in a peaceful environment, thanks to countless revolutionary martyrs and PLA soldiers on the frontier who have exchanged their lives for them. For example, the great "special heroes" Dong Cunrui and Yang Gensi; Tu Boyi, whose face was burned during the mission; and so on. It is precisely because these warriors sacrificed their lives and forgot their lives to fight that they have the brilliant brilliance of China today. Today we will talk about the most adorable person - Tu Boyi.

He entered the Korean battlefield at the age of 20

Born in 1931 in Yunyang, Chongqing, Tu Boyi was particularly intelligent from an early age, and at the age of 18, he was admitted

Chinese School for Military and Political Cadres of the Forty-second Army of the Fourth Field Army of the People's Liberation Army.

At that time, Tu Boyi was very excited to get the admission letter, but before this Tu Boyi had never been far away, this time he wanted to live alone in a foreign country, and the people in the family were very reluctant and uneasy. Before leaving, his grandmother was afraid that he would go out and starve, so she prepared a large bag of food and clothing for him. After a week's journey, Tu Boyi finally arrived at the Tangshan Military and Political School.

In December 1949, Tu Boyi officially became a Chinese people's liberation army at school, when the new China was just in ruins, and before it could develop, he was forced to participate in the war the following year because of the deterioration of the situation in Korea. As a result, Tu Boyi, who had studied at the school for less than a year, had to graduate early and follow the 126th Division of the 42nd Army for a two-month pre-war retraining. In October 1950, Tu Boyi's unit quietly infiltrated the Korean battlefield and became the first volunteer soldiers to enter the Korean war. At that time, the country officially announced on October 25 that the troops were going to the Yalu River, but in fact, a week ago, Tu Boyi's 42nd Army had already arrived in Korea, and at that time, in order not to let the enemy find out, they could only sleep during the day and rush at night; even eating was solved by nibbling dry food along the way, because they were afraid of exposing the location of their troops by making a fire.

Don't call the enemy to a good Christmas

Tu Boyi, who had just arrived in the Korean battlefield, was assigned to the military station, responsible for the deployment of materials to the army at the front, and it was not long before he was transferred to the front line to participate in the battle. At the end of 1950, the volunteer army defeated the enemy army with fewer victories and more victories in Wongcho Ridge, North Korea, which greatly boosted the morale of the volunteer army at that time, and the battle also met the cries of the American general MacArthur to "end the war before Christmas". Immediately after this battle, new year's day (Christmas in the United States) was ushered in. At that time, the political commissar of Tu Boyi's unit asked:

"Let the enemy not have a good Christmas?" The soldiers replied, "No! "So what to do?" "Fight!"

The whole army shouted in unison.

Therefore, Tu Boyi's troops passed the New Year's Day in advance, and on the eve of New Year's Day, when the US army was still eating turkey and drinking beer on the position for Christmas, our volunteer army suddenly launched an attack on the enemy near the 38th Line. Before dawn, the command received the news that "the enemy has fled, and the comrades in front are pursuing, so please prepare the troops in the rear to cross the 38th line." Originally planned to take a week to cross the 38th Line, the enemy was driven away in one night, and later they were driven all the way south of the Han River.

Later, when the fourth battle broke out in the Korean battlefield, when it was only about half a month before the Spring Festival in China, the head of the unit asked the soldiers, "What festival will be celebrated in a few days?" The warriors replied, "Spring Festival!" Immediately after that, the chief asked: "We did not tell the enemy to spend a good Christmas, and the enemy is also likely to find trouble for us during the Spring Festival. "The old way!". In this way, the Spring Festival was celebrated in advance, and the decision to fight Chinese New Year's Eve was thus decided. In order to guard against the enemy's attack, the support army passed the New Year on the 25th of the month and began to prepare for the Chinese New Year's Eve.

A grade of burns fell on the battlefield

On February 14, 1951, the enemy did not call our army a good year, launched an air raid, that afternoon Tu Boyi followed the troops to ambush on the hillside, but there have been more than ten planes circling overhead, suddenly the enemy dropped several napalm bombs, burning the site of Tu Boyi's ambush into a sea of fire, Tu Boyi's whole body was also splashed with gasoline bombs and on fire, at the moment of life and death, he did not have time to cry out in pain, quickly threw away all the bullets and grenades on his body, and ran towards a cave in front. Inside the cave, he kept rolling his body to extinguish the flames on his body. When night fell, he was pulled down the mountain by his comrades-in-arms for treatment. Because the burn area of the whole body was too large, resulting in facial disfigurement and both hands were crippled, he was quickly sent to Changchun for treatment after simple treatment at the front line.

Under the "deception" of doctors and comrades-in-arms, at first he did not know that he had been disfigured, and then one day he saw his appearance in a pond near the hospital, Tu Boyi cried bitterly at that time, and even wanted to die, he never thought that he had become an ugly monster at the age of 20. In 1956, the 25-year-old Tu Boyi was placed in Sichuan Province

Recuperating in a recuperation home for the revolutionary disabled soldiers, he was extremely autistic at first, trying to avoid greeting others and shutting himself in his room every day. Later, he read books such as "How Steel is Made" given to him by his comrades-in-arms, and gradually found an optimistic spirit, and successively participated in the work of the school and the performance team of the disabled soldiers, performing a series of performances, lighting, and choreography.
