In the middle of the month, British two-wheeler Norton unveiled a prototype engineering car for the V4CR retro sports car they were developing at a local exhibition, cr meaning Cafe Racer "coffee racing". Norton, which had been in trouble for years, was acquired by TVS India last year for £16 million.
The V4CR is powered by a V-type 72-degree four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1,200 cc from the Norton Sports V4 SS/V4 RR, and the maximum power output has been reduced to 136 kw/approximately 185 hp. The machine has previously been equipped with TVS-Norton on the V4SV sports car released after the merger. The split handlebars, round headlights, short tail design, and sleek lines make this retro sports car prototype engineering car a combination of old and new elements.
First unveiled in 2016, Norton's V4 SS/V4 RR is powered by an engine with an oversized bore/stroke (82 mm x 56.8 mm) ratio, an ultra-high compression ratio of 13.6:1, an exhaust capacity of 1,200 cc and a maximum horsepower output of 149 kW/approximately 200 hp.
