He held the chancellor of the late Southern Song Dynasty for decades, during which he paid no attention to the decline and fall of the Southern Song Dynasty, single-mindedly seeking personal progress, installing his henchmen inside and outside the imperial court, and his greatest hobby was fighting clams, until he was killed in 1275 AD, when it was only 4 years after the fall of the Southern Song Dynasty. So how did such a faint and incompetent man become the prime minister of a dynasty? This has to start from the history of Jia Rudao's origins.
In fact, before Jia Rudao's departure, he was just a small in Lin'an City, wandering around Lin'an City every day, and liked to collude with a few of his fox friends to steal things. Once, they went to an orchard to steal fruit, only to be caught on the spot by the owner of the orchard, who tied them up and sent them to the government office. According to the law of the Southern Song Dynasty, after the prisoners arrived at Yamen, the Prefect of Lin'an first beat the prisoners with 30 sticks to kill the sticks according to the custom, and Jia Rudao was placed last.
Hearing the screams of the other accomplices being beaten, Jia Rudao's heart palpitated, and his heart had been thinking about a way to get out, at this time he suddenly thought of his sister Jia Guifei, so when it was his turn to execute, he loudly rebuked Ya Gong: "You dare to beat me, do you know what my identity is?"
The prefect sneered, "Who are you?" You're just a thief who likes to steal, still playing the score in front of me? Call me!" As a result, Jia Rudao broke free of the shackles of the servants, and suddenly ran to the court and slapped the prefect on the spot: "Open your eyes and take a good look, I am Jia Xiangdao, the younger brother of Jia Guifei, and I am the uncle of the country!" When the prefect heard about it, he hurriedly sent someone to investigate, and after learning his true identity, he hurriedly invited Jia Rudao to eat a sumptuous feast, and beat the owner of the orchard who complained.
Through this incident, Jia Rudao also realized the importance of his sister's status, so he began to study hard and vowed to get ahead. In 1238 AD, Jia Xiangdao was a high school scholar, and with the help of his sister Jia Guifei, Jia Rudao's promotion was as fast as a rocket, and he was successively appointed to important official positions such as Taichang Cheng (太常丞) and later became the prime minister of the Southern Song Dynasty, becoming a key figure influencing the situation in the late Southern Song Dynasty.
