His name is Mao Zhengchu, and he is a native of Lu'an, Anhui.

Mao Zhengchu, born in 1901 in a large family in Xuji, Lu'an, according to his origin, should be the defender of the old interest group after adulthood, but he actively participated in the revolutionary tide of anti-imperialism, anti-feudalism and anti-warlordism, so it is said that the revolution does not matter where he comes from.

It is precisely because Mao Zhengchu had excellent living conditions that he began to receive education from an early age. At that time, it was in the midst of major changes unprecedented in a hundred years, the feudal dynasty had just been overthrown, and advanced ideas and culture were rising. Mao Zhengchu, who studied at the private Tunwei High School in Lu'an, came into contact with progressive intellectuals and democratic and scientific ideas.

In particular, when the wave of the "May Fourth" Movement affected Lu'an, teachers and students of schools in Lu'an also took to the streets in solidarity with the May Fourth Movement, "they shouted slogans, distributed leaflets, gave speeches, joined the Lu'an Japanese goods inspection team, went to various stores to inspect, register and seal Japanese goods, and took the lead in burning the Japanese goods they used in public, such as umbrellas and soaps, to show their determination to boycott Japanese goods." In this way, Mao Zhengchu, who first stepped into the ranks of social movements, was tempered, allowing him to more deeply feel the truth that "the world rises and falls, and the pirate has the responsibility".

In the wave of revolution, Mao Zhengchu also experienced hardships, he was expelled from the reactionary school twice, so he transferred schools many times, and he successively went to Wuhu Anhui Provincial No. 2 A Agricultural School, Wuhu Private Qiushi Middle School, Provincial No. 5 Middle School and Anqing Jianhua Middle School.

In the autumn of 1926, Mao Zhengchu, who graduated from middle school, decided to throw himself into the pen and go to Guangzhou, the center of the National Revolution, and was admitted to the 6th phase of the Whampoa Military Academy in Guangzhou as he wished, and also joined the party in the same year. Mao Zhengchu, who was originally enthusiastic and ready to dedicate himself to the national revolution, was changed by the outbreak of the "April 12 counter-revolutionary coup", after which he left the Kuomintang army and was sent back to Lu'an by the organization to carry out the peasant movement.

Mao Zhengchu used teaching as a cover to carry out secret revolutionary work. He took advantage of his family's social relations to make home visits to students, lived with the long-term workers of the tenant households, told them the historical story of Lenin and Sun Yat-sen leading the revolution, propagated the revolutionary principles, and enlightened the class consciousness of the poor masses; during the planting season, he secretly mobilized the long-term workers of the landlord Wang Shao's five families to hold strikes and win victories on the condition of increasing wages and improving food; at the same time, he began to join hands among the poor peasants, secretly organize peasant associations, and wage struggles against the landlords and the old money. Later, according to the decision of the Lu'an County CPC Committee, Mao Zhengchu infiltrated the Kuomintang Xuji Militia League as a captain, secretly recruited party members, established a party organization, and gradually made the militia league a revolutionary armed force led by the party.

Mao Zhengchu also came from a family of large landlords, but in order to punish Mao Zhengkui, a brother who oppressed the people, he also took measures of great righteousness and extermination of his relatives, and the local people clapped their hands and applauded.

On November 8, 1929, after the Dushan peasants fired the first shots of the Liuhuo Uprising, all parts of western Anhui responded. Mao Zhengchu also led an uprising and renamed the Xuji Militia Regiment as the Hexi Red Army Guerrilla Brigade, with Mao Zhengchu as its commander. Subsequently, Mao Zhengchu began to plan and support the Jiangjiadian militia uprising, suppress landlord bullies, open warehouses and release grain, and set up the Lu'an Four District Revolutionary Committee, creating the Hexi Revolutionary Base Area, thus opening the prelude to the lu'an Hexi peasant uprising and armed uprising.

By the beginning of 1931, the Red Army guerrilla brigade had reached more than 5,000 people, which had been reorganized into a guerrilla division and the general headquarters of the Red Guards in Lu'an County, with Mao Zheng as the first commander.

The rise of the Red Army guerrillas in western Anhui led to the brutal suppression of the Kuomintang reactionaries in an attempt to extinguish the increasingly vigorous revolutionary fire. However, the guerrilla brigade of the Red Army led by Mao Zhengchu adopted a flexible combat method such as attacking the west from the east, and successively attacked Houjiaxu at Nanyue Temple, crushed the Jiangdian and Xuji militia groups, and suppressed a large number of landlords and gentry. After dozens of battles, he opened up the passage between Hexi and the Eyu-Anhui revolutionary base area, and established the Lu'an Hexi Revolutionary Base Area centered on Xujiaji. At this time, Mao Zhengchu, as the commander-in-chief of the Red Guards Army in western Anhui and the head of the county independent regiment, had already commanded 6 Red Guards regiments with a total of more than 25,000 guns.

But something sad is about to happen.

In the autumn of 1931, in order to expand the red area of Mao Zhengchu, Zhengtong led more than 5,000 troops to advance into huoqiu territory, but received an urgent order from Lao Zhang, the highest person in charge of the Eyu-Anhui Su District in Dushan, to recall Mao Zhengchu and cadres at and above the regimental level.

Mao Zhengchu, who has always been loyal to the party and has a strong sense of organization, immediately stepped out of the line of fire and drove to Dushan with more than 10 other cadres at and above the regimental level.

Unexpectedly, as soon as Mao Zheng and the others arrived at Dushan, they were shot down as soon as they jumped off their horses and escorted to Mabu overnight, where they were put on death row at Wenchang Palace. Soon, Lao Zhang secretly executed him on the charge of "reorganization", at the age of 30, and was posthumously recognized as a revolutionary martyr in 1957.

Mao Zhengchu, a good son of the party and commander of the guerrilla division of the Lu'an Red Army, did not die desperately in the face of killing the enemy on the battlefield or in the face of illness, but tragically died at the hands of the traitor Lao Zhang.
