Industry standard QB/T 5202-2017 "household and similar use electric clothes dryer" has been released for nearly 5 years, with the upgrading of products and the upgrading of technology, QB/T 5202-2017 has been unable to meet the market demand, the new function of electric clothes dryer lack of technical requirements and evaluation methods, resulting in individual manufacturers appear false publicity, blind exaggeration and other market chaos. T/CAS 511-2021 "Household and similar use electric clothes dryer performance index evaluation" in the electric clothes dryer product characteristics and new functions, for the first time put forward the electric dryer drying efficiency, energy efficiency, sterilization, wrinkle removal, mite removal, odor removal and other technical indicators and evaluation methods, and the assessment indicators were graded, opened up the product grade, provided a basis for consumers to buy better quality products, and pointed out the direction for enterprises to improve product quality. The release of this standard fills the gap in the industry and also provides corresponding technical reserves for the revision of QB/T 5202-2017 in the future.

Engineer Chen Songtao introduced the standard in detail from the background, purpose, significance, technical content of the standard, verification data and other aspects. This standard divides the performance of dry clothing efficiency, energy efficiency, noise, durability and other performance into four levels of ABCD.

Li Yi, director of China Household Electrical Appliance Testing, focused on the purpose of setting the health function of electric clothes dryers, technical requirements and interpretation of test methods. Starting from the relationship between electric clothes dryer and health, Director Li first explained the possible health risks of unclean clothes, and then elaborated on the health functions of electric clothes dryers, that is, the function of sterilization, odor removal, wrinkle removal, and mite removal; and then emphasized that the release of harmful substances (ozone, ultraviolet leakage) of electric clothes dryers with healthy functions should also attract the attention of production enterprises. In addition, the specific test methods and precautions for the above functions are explained, and the understanding of the health functions in the standards is deepened for enterprises and consumers.

Li Xiaoxian, research director from Beijing Aowei Cloud Network Big Data Technology Co., Ltd., introduced that the proportion of smart clothes dryer sales in the drying rack industry is low, but with the continuous improvement of social development, consumption level and people's continuous pursuit of quality of life, the overall consumer demand of the industry has shown a trend from traditional hand crank to intelligent electric upgrading. In 2021, the retail sales of the domestic electric drying rack market is expected to be 1.54 billion yuan, an increase of 16.3% compared with 1.32 billion yuan in 2020, with a significant growth rate. At present, the penetration rate of electric clothes dryers in developed countries such as Japan, South Korea and Singapore is more than 40%, while the penetration rate of first-tier cities such as North, Shanghai and Guangzhou in China is about 10%, and electric clothes dryers will become the core driving category of the balcony scene in the future, and the market potential is huge.
