From wildfires in the United States to typhoons in Asia, natural disasters have become a regular in the world's daily news. The following events document the impact of these terrible disasters on human life.
In 2021, people are witnessing further examples of the impacts of climate change. Scientists have noticed that as temperatures rise, the earth's animals and plants are changing, and even the impact on ecology is deteriorating, such as a decade-long study showing that the Amazon rainforest, the world's largest tropical rainforest, now emits more carbon than it absorbs. The few weather anomalies that have led to human displacement and the destruction of lives over the past 12 months may seem frustrating and worth pondering. While no one can fully guarantee that these events are directly related to, or not related to, climate change or global warming, it is an indisputable fact that bad phenomena are becoming more numerous.
Spanish Blizzard - January

Rapid attribution analysis found that it was a 1,000-year-old weather event with extreme heat waves affecting at least nine states and provinces, and that the heatwave was estimated to have killed at least 1,400 people. Heatwaves are associated with strong upper-level high-pressure zones centered in the region, whose intensity is related to the effects of climate change, and U.S. agencies speculate that this climate change is 150 times more likely to occur than this extreme heatwave.
California Drought - June

This summer's drought in California was the most extreme recorded in the entire 126-year period. This is a clear sign of the role that climate change is playing in the state's declining water hazards. Data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration shows that dry months are becoming the new normal, with fewer and fewer rainy seasons.
Climate researchers say there are two main factors contributing to this summer's severe drought: insufficient precipitation and increased demand for evaporation, also known as "atmospheric thirst." Rising temperatures increase the amount of water the atmosphere can absorb, which then dries out and creates conditions that trigger wildfires. Justin Mankin, co-chair of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Drought Task Force, argues that without global warming, there would be no such drought-related temperature and evaporation needs.

In September 2021, heavy rains flooded 382 houses and roads in Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Valley received 105 mm of rain in 3 hours. In the same week, another flood occurred in the Tarai area, killing 9 people and destroying 42 homes
In October 2021, flooding occurred in the Kanali catchment area in western Nepal, killing at least 103 people. In the Mahakali River Basin, 2,600 people were transferred to eastern Nepal, and torrential rains destroyed about 50,000 hectares of rice plantations in the Palpa region. 2,232 houses were flooded throughout Nepal. The domestic airport in Biratnaga had to be closed for four days due to flooding of the runway. Flooding blocked 244 highways across Nepal, causing about $1 billion in damage.
Great Forest Fires in Siberia – July

The Yakuts are known in their Turkic language as sakhas, and many believe that nature is a living spirit that will maintain harmony with humanity.
Scientists have said wildfires in Siberia release record amounts of greenhouse gases, causing global warming, with fires fueled by unusually high temperatures burning all the way north of the Arctic Circle.
Nordic floods - July
On July 16, 2021, the Blysheim region of Erfstadt in western Germany was completely destroyed by floodwaters.
The 2021 European floods were floods in Western European countries in the summer of 2021, killing about 242 people. Following record rainfall in Western Europe, floods in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland on July 14, 2021, caused several rivers to burst their banks, causing the worst damage in the German rhineland-Palatinate-Arweiler county, where the waters of the Ar river rose, collapsed many buildings and killed at least 18 people. Belgium described the disaster as one of the largest known natural disasters in history; the flood became germany's deadliest natural disaster since World War II. In the aftermath of the floods, scientists highlighted the disaster's link to global trends in extreme weather, particularly more frequent heavy rains caused by climate change.
Wildfires in Greece – August

The 2021 Greek wildfires are the result of multiple wildfires that have occurred in many parts of the country since the heat wave of the highest temperature in history (47.1 °C) in Greece since early August 2021. The largest wildfires occurred in Attica, Olympia, Messinia, while the most devastating wildfires occurred on the island of Northern Eupia, where some 2,000 people were evacuated by boat and have so far burned 93,000 hectares of arable land across Greece.
Haiti Tropical Storm - August
On August 16, 2021, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck Les Kays, Haiti, approaching the tropical depression "Grace" and a woman wading through the water.
Just before 8:30 a.m. EST on Aug. 14, an M7.2 earthquake struck the mountains between the provinces of Nippes and The South in southwestern Haiti. Overnight on August 16, Haiti was also hit directly by Tropical Storm Grace, which destroyed many buildings and brought more suffering to the region as Storm Grace swept through the area, killing more than 700 people. Scientists say rising temperatures and low rainfall due to climate change have long affected much of the country.
California Wildfires - August to September

As of December 16, 2021, a total of 8,619 fires were recorded in the state, burning an area of 1039641 hectares, at least 3,629 buildings were destroyed by fire, and at least 7 firefighters and 2 civilians were injured in the firefighting. Wildfires in the state are increasing due to climate change in California, and in terms of the number of fires, 2021 has surpassed 2020, and 2020 itself is the state's most season on record.
Dust storm in Brazil - September
On September 26, 2021, a huge sandstorm swept through the community of Nossa Senhorado Carmo in the Brazilian city of Frutal.
An unusually strong sandstorm in September 2021 killed at least six people in São Paulo, and since the end of September, huge orange dust clouds have rumbled in the countryside, with winds of up to 100 km/h occurring at least three times, terrified São Paulo's urban and rural residents. The death toll from Typhoon Rai has risen to 208, making it one of the deadliest storms in recent years, with more than 300,000 people evacuated from homes and seaside resorts, according to the Philippine National Police. Scientists believe it was the strongest storm to hit the Philippines in 2021 and occurred late in the region's typhoon season, with most cyclones developing between July and October. Scientists have long warned that rising global temperatures caused by anthropogenic climate change are causing typhoons to become stronger.
