[China Anti-Cult Network, January 19, 2022 News, Correspondent: Wang Yan] In recent years, the "Falungong" cult organization has exhausted its calculations and used all its strength in a vain attempt to seek "correct names" in the international arena, but it has been repeatedly recognized and beaten back to its original form. On January 17, the Eurasian Review Network (Eurasiareview.com) released an analysis report on religious investigations in Kyrgyzstan, revealing that "Falungong" had twice been revoked from registered associations in Kyrgyzstan and was characterized by Kyrgyz officials as an "extremist" force.

The Eurasian Review Network mentioned in the relevant report that the "Falungong" cult had registered as a society in Kyrgyzstan in July 2004, but in February 2005 it was characterized as "extremist" and revoked. On January 26, 2018, the "Falungong" organization once again tried to register an association in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, and on March 20 of the same year, it was revoked again by a document issued by the Kyrgyz Ministry of Justice.

Kyrgyzstan is the fourth largest country in Central Asia, with a total population of about 6 million. According to Kyrgyz government statistics, more than 70 per cent of the country's population is ethnic Kyrgyz and about 15 per cent of the population is ethnic Uzbek, most of whom have a Sunni Muslim background, while the proportion of ethnic Russians with Russian Orthodox or other Christian backgrounds is much smaller. In addition, about 3 per cent of the population has a background of other religion or denomination. Previously, the National Security Council (NSC) of Kyrgyzstan issued decrees in 2019 and 2021 respectively to explicitly ban "extremist" forces and pass legislation to strictly restrict the activities of cult organizations such as "Falungong" and "Jehovah's Witnesses" in the country.
