According to the media, the new Civic Type R will be on display at the 2022 Tokyo Motor Salon and will be available from January 14 to 16. This is not the official debut of the Type R, however, and the model on display will be a prototype still cloaked in camouflage.
Honda New Civic Type R
The Honda New Civic Type R is based on the 11th-generation Honda Civic hatchback version, but with a more sporty look. The front face of the car is not much different from the regular eleventh generation Civic, but in order to provide better heat dissipation, the area of the heat sink under it has been increased. The headlight groups on both sides are in a narrow and long posture and look very sharp. From the side, the car uses sporty wheels, which are paired with red calipers to create a strong sense of sport. The rear has changed significantly from the regular model, with the new car equipped with a tail wing and a larger spoiler, while the three-out exhaust pipe in the lower center also indicates the car's distinctive identity.
In terms of power, the car will still be equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which may exceed the 306 horsepower that has previously broken the lap time of the New North Circuit. To be sure, the car will feature a 6-speed manual transmission for a better handling feel.
