PROJECT INTRODUCTION
Project Introduction
-
This year marks the 200th birthday of Louis Vuitton, founder of the fashion brand Louis Vuitton (LV), and one of the LOUIS 200 events launched by the brand is to invite 200 artists from around the world to reinterpret LV's iconic luggage in their own style. Before we saw the "oil suitcase" launched by Taiwanese contemporary artist Zhou Shixiong, now a special exhibition of 200 complete works is about to be exhibited around the world, and it is the first to appear in the Louis Vuitton family mansion in Asnières, west of Paris, France, giving people a glimpse of how these works will be presented in an interesting way, and what kind of sparks can be mixed and matched when they are gathered together?
Named "200 Suitcases, 200 Dreamers", the global tour first saw an optical briefing hall, surrounded by LED screens, presenting a single suitcase, and the floor was covered with a carpet of Damier patterns. When visitors pass through the first exhibition hall, the suitcase is like a bridge, leading people from time to another space, stacked in a haphazard manner into suitcase works of different heights, which are piled on the crates that are actually used for exhibition changes. Because the participants' creations are a combination of physical and digital, one of the characteristics of the exhibition is the combination of original artwork and the "magic box" displayed on the screen screen. The luggage robot "Monsieur Louis" can also be seen, presenting the future transformation of objects and creators.
Visitors can then head to the ground floor to continue admiring the realistic fantasy whimsy created by additional suitcases, more animations, and immersive spaces. At the same time, there is also a lifestyle area where you can watch movies and read books. If you follow the music, you'll find a hidden entrance to a sound-enabled underground bar with a jukebox for British DJ and producer Benji B. With 200 tracks on a loop, visitors can fully enjoy the visual feast in a cheerful atmosphere.
