According to reports, Apple began development work on iOS 16, and according to iPhonesoft, Apple plans to give up support for the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and the first-generation iPhone SE. iPadOS 16 is not compatible with iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2, iPad (fifth generation), and iPad Pro in 2015.
If the report is accurate, the A10 chip will be the minimum specification for iOS 16.
The iPhone 6s series and the first-generation iPhone SE were released in late 2015 and early 2016, respectively, and these devices have been in software update service for more than six years. Normally, Apple will continue to support these devices with major versions of iOS and provide critical security patches to further extend the life of older models
