TGA organizers revealed today that TGA 2021, held this year, reached 85 million views, the highest record to date. The event was broadcast live on more than 30 platforms around the world, including bilibili, and social engagement and player voting reached a new record, with the total viewing time of the live broadcast on YouTube exceeding 1.75 million hours and the number of votes exceeding 23.2 million, 27% higher than in 2020.
In an official statement, Geoff Keighley said the team is very grateful that TGA 2021 can revert to the format of live events and continue to build on success and achieve growth in 2021. TGA began hosting in 2014 and received 1.9 million views for its first live broadcast, and has continued to grow every year since then, from 83 million last year.
