This year's awards ceremony is more focused on the debut of new games than on the inventory of the year's games, which is somewhat contrary to the original intention of TGA.

In his latest tweet, Keighley shared viewership statistics about this year's TGA, which has "the largest audience to date." Keighley wrote: "We are pleased to share that the 2021 TGA provided a record 85 million live viewers. And its viewing time on Youtube is also the highest to date, with a total of 1.75 million viewing hours.

Keighley also provided some data on audience interactions with the show, which this year's TGA had 1.6 million tweets and 23.2 million votes submitted by players during the judging process, both of which also set new records for the show.

But while this year's TGA has outperformed previous years, Keighley must consider a key issue that balances the awards ceremony and new game showcases, and if too many new games appear, it will not be much different from E3.
