TGA founder and host Geoff Keighley announced on Twitter that the TGA 2021 awards ceremony has reached a new high in viewership, with 85 million live viewers, an increase of 14% compared to last year (45 million live viewers in 2019 and 83 million in 2020). In addition, this year's TGA-related topics reached 1.6 million tweets, 23.2 million audience votes, and 1.75 million hours of viewing time on YouTube, all of which set a new record in TGA history.
Geoff Keighley said before the awards ceremony that this year they will return to the game compared to the previous TGA, rather than focusing on the star platform. And Geoff Keighley also stressed that there will be four or five heavy game messages at the ceremony before the start of the TGA, which can be said to have satisfied the appetite of the audience.
