In August 1945, the Soviet Union and the United States accepted the surrender of Japan on the 38th parallel of the Korean Peninsula, which is the main reason why the Korean Peninsula is now divided into two countries, Korea and South Korea. After that, due to the tense international situation in the early days of the Cold War, both the United States and the Soviet Union tried to help their respective forces unify the Korean Peninsula.
From 1947 onwards, small-scale armed conflicts never ceased, and by 1950 the Korean People's Army had officially started the Korean War in response to aggression. Even after more than seventy years, we still remember many of the battles of the Korean War. But did you know that there was one of the most famous traitors in the Korean War, who committed heinous crimes against Chinese people until he was finally shot in 1970?
From ordinary fishermen to traitors
Born in 1910 in The city of Jeongju in the northern part of the Korean Peninsula, Choe Won-mo, like other North Korean residents, relied on sea fishing to sustain himself until the outbreak of the Korean War. But one thing is hard to understand, that is, Choi Won-mo was not affected in the slightest in the face of the domestic left-wing movement, which may have laid the most important foreshadowing for him to become a traitor in the Korean War.
After the outbreak of war, due to the direct intervention of the US military, the North Korean People's Army was completely unable to resist the blows of modern military fire and was forced to retreat continuously. It was also at this time that Choi Won-mo thought he had seen the situation clearly, and could not wait to join the local armed forces arranged by the Korean army, and used the small power in his hands to start committing crimes.
White Horse Guerrillas
However, what Cui Yuanmo did not expect was that only two months or so had passed, and with the participation of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army, the offensive and defensive situation between the north and the south had changed again. Too late to retreat with South Korean troops, Choe Wash-mo was forced to remain on some of the large and small islands near North Korea and called himself the so-called "White Horse Guerrillas."
In fact, when the "White Horse Guerrillas" were first established, they were actually at an important stage in the second and third offensive campaigns of our People's Volunteer Army and the Korean People's Army in the south. Due to the operational needs of the front line and the rapid movement of personnel, the rear was inevitably empty. Under such circumstances, the White Horse guerrillas, who had been hiding everywhere, took the initiative to launch an attack on the Chinese grain ships.
In the first attack, the White Horse guerrillas disguised themselves as North Korean victims to gain the trust of the grain carriers. Subsequently, while the Chinese people who participated in the grain delivery laid down their defenses, they took up arms and coerced the people to transport all the grain to their "white horse base". Most shamefully, in exchange for benefits from the Americans and the South Korean government, Choi Won-mo shamelessly boasted that these ordinary Chinese people were his own prisoners of war.
In the second and third attacks, Cui Yuanmo's courage became even greater, and as long as he found out that there were only one or two Chinese grain ships nearby, he took the initiative to attack the grain carriers. Although these losses did not have much impact compared to the entire war situation, the presence of Cui Yuanmo made the People's Volunteer Army very angry. Unfortunately, after several search operations, cui yuanmo was not successfully captured.

It was not until 1970 that the North Korean traitor, who had committed heinous crimes against Chinese, was finally arrested and shot by the North Korean government. It also happened that when the Chinese Volunteer Army swept the islands around North Korea, Choi Won-mo had actually fled to South Korea on a US warship. But in 1967, when Choe Won-mo went out to sea to fish, he encountered four Patrol Boats of the Korean People's Army.
After interrogation, the Korean People's Army discovered that this person was actually Choe Won-mo, who was notorious in the Civil War. After three years in custody, the North Korean government eventually shot him on charges of traitor and spy. At this point, the North Korean traitors who have been at large for nearly two decades have finally been punished as they deserve.
