The Chinese diving team collectively "jumped into the sea" and all the red Chan called out the water salty

Abu Dhabi, December 20 (Xinhua) -- The 15th FINA World Short Course Swimming Championships continued in Abu Dhabi, and on the scaffolding jumping platform built by the sea, the Chinese diving team collectively experienced "diving into the sea" and finally won the third place in the diving exhibition competition. Brazil and Great Britain are in the top two.

The Chinese team, composed of women's 10m platform Olympic champion Quan Hongchan, women's doubles 3m olympic champion Wang Han, male athletes Li Zheng and Lian Junjie participated in the 10m platform and 3m board single and double performance events.

In response to how she felt about "jumping into the sea" for the first time, Quan Hongchan told reporters: "(The water is) salty." Wang Han said that the feeling is "quite exciting, it is a very fresh experience."

FINA President Hussein made an "exclusive interview" with Quan Hongchan after the game. He asked Quan Hongchan how it felt to jump from a high platform to the sea for the first time, and Quan Hongchan said, "Although it is a little scary, I still have to jump." ”

Hussein congratulated Quan Hongchan on her excellent results at the Tokyo Olympics and said FINA was proud of her and hoped she would participate in more World Championships in the future.

This year's Short Pool Swimming World Championships is called the "Water Carnival", and for the first time, it includes marathon swimming, diving exhibition competitions and the 2022 Swimming World Championships high-platform diving project qualifications.

The diving exhibition race is located on the seashore of Yas Island and shares the same "diving rack" as the high platform diving competition. Unlike Olympic diving competitions, which are set up on fixed springboards and platforms, high-level diving platforms are often temporary structures.

The Short Pool Swimming World Championships are the World Championships for Swimming in a 25-metre swimming pool, hosted by FINA, held every two years, and were originally scheduled to be held in December 2020, but were postponed for one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of athletes from more than 180 countries and regions participated in the six-day competition. The Chinese team sent a total of 27 athletes, including 13 female athletes and 14 male athletes. (End)
