On December 18, 2021, NIO Day 2021 was held in Suzhou. At this year's NIO Day, NIO released the medium-sized intelligent electric coupe ET5. The starting price of new cars is 328,000 yuan before subsidies, and the starting price of BaaS solutions is 258,000 yuan before subsidies, and delivery is expected to start in September 2022.
In terms of appearance, the exterior design of NIO ET5 is very simple. Basically, it is composed of a simple and clean surface and organic, humanized details, which explains the concept of "design for automatic driving". The ET5 draws on the smooth lines of the ET7 and naturally integrates high-performance autonomous driving sensors into the body. The muscle contours derived from EP9, coupled with sharp polylines, create a youthful and energetic image.
In terms of interior, the interior space design of NIO ET5 continues the concept of "second living room". Clean+ eco-friendly fabrics wrap softly around passengers while enhancing the acoustics of the cabin. The invisible air conditioner outlet keeps the dashboard neat and sophisticated. Smart frameless electric suction doors and concealed door handles come standard, with a digital key based on UWB technology for easier access.
In terms of technology, the NIO ET5 is equipped with the NIO PanoCinema, a digital cockpit with AR/VR technology. NIO and innovative AR equipment company NREAL have jointly developed exclusive AR glasses that can project a large screen with a visual distance of 6 meters and equivalent to 201 inches; and have also cooperated with NOLO to develop NIO VR Glasses, equipped with ultra-thin Pancake optical lenses, which can achieve binocular 4K display.
In addition, the 10.2-inch digital meter uses HDR high dynamic range image technology to bring images to life. Through cutting-edge hardware systems, continuous software development and content expansion, it is equipped with the new 256-color digital light curtain mood light and 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos sound system.
In terms of automatic driving, NIO ET5 is equipped with NIO's latest automatic driving technology NAD (NIO Autonomous Driving), through NIO supersensitive system Aquila and supercomputing platform Adam, ET5 will gradually realize high-speed, urban area, parking, power exchange and other scenarios, the whole process of safe and relaxing point-to-point automatic driving experience. The full function of NAD adopts the service subscription mode of "monthly activation and monthly payment", with a service fee of 680 yuan per month, and will gradually provide services after completing development verification.
In terms of power, NIO ET5 applies a new generation of high-efficiency electric drive platform with silicon carbide power module, equipped with a standard battery pack (75kWh) CLTC with a range of more than 550 kilometers, a long battery pack (100kWh) with a range of more than 700 kilometers, and an ultra-long battery pack (150kWh) with a range of more than 1,000 kilometers. Nio ET5 adopts front induction / asynchronous rear permanent magnet / synchronous, dual motor drive, comprehensive maximum power of 360 kilowatts, total torque of 700 Nm, to achieve the fastest zero to 100 km /h 4.3 seconds acceleration performance.
