Exploring the vast universe, developing the space industry, and building a space power are the space dreams that we unremittingly pursue. Under the strong leadership of the party, China's manned space project has vigorously carried forward the spirit of manned spaceflight, unswervingly taken the road of independent development, realized the Chinese nation's millennium dream of flying in the sky, and embarked on a road of manned space development with Chinese characteristics. Behind these achievements is the wisdom and sweat of several generations of astronauts.

On the afternoon of December 17, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting of Chinese and foreign journalists, inviting five outstanding communist party representatives in the field of manned spaceflight to exchange views with everyone around "flying in the sky and writing loyalty to dreams".

Wang Ke: Write youth for the country and ask the heavens

Born in 1982, Wang Ke, a researcher at the Space Application Engineering and Technology Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Integrated Technology Center, also serves as the deputy chief designer of The Space Application System of China's manned space engineering, and is also the youngest of the five delegates to the meeting.

In 2006, Wang Ke entered the space application system of manned space engineering and successively participated in the overall design and load research and development of Shenzhou 7, Shenzhou 8, Tiangong 1, Tiangong-2 and space application systems in the space station stage.

During this period, he gradually grew from an ordinary designer to a deputy chief designer of the system, witnessing and participating in the development and construction of space applications and science in manned space engineering.

"At this stage, the core task of my team and I is to use the space station platform to build multidisciplinary space science facilities with international advanced level and build our national space laboratory." What we pursue is 'writing youth for the country and the sky', and our goal is the sea of stars. Wang Ke said.

Tang Hongbo: Eleven years of chasing dreams, soaring into the sky

Half a year ago, astronaut Tang Hongbo, together with Nie Haisheng and Liu Boming, carried out the Shenzhou XII manned mission, completing his dream journey from an ordinary rural student to an astronaut. At this meeting, Tang Hongbo, who had completed isolation and recuperation and recovery, appeared in front of Chinese and foreign reporters with great energy.

During the orbit period, Tang Hongbo and his 3-person group spent about a week to establish a manned environment on the space station, completed a large number of aerospace medicine and space science tests, and completed the installation of extravehicular equipment twice, and successfully returned to the earth after 3 months of orbit flight.

Eleven years of chasing dreams, soaring into the sky. From participating in the astronaut selection in 2009 to being selected in 2010, and then to the successful flying in 2021, Tang Hongbo has experienced many years of waiting, and the hardships can be imagined.

During the Shenzhou 11 mission, Tang Hongbo was selected as a backup astronaut, but in the end he failed to fly to the sky.

"I'm going to start over, I don't know if I'll be selected next time." Recalling his mood at that time, Tang Hongbo said that he always kept in mind his original dream: "When I become an astronaut in Beijing, I will fly, I have a mission on my shoulders, and I have a dream in my heart, and this dream is a flying dream." ”

"Growing from an ordinary rural student to a pilot and an astronaut is a strong support for the aerospace industry by the strength of the motherland." I will not forget my original intention, keep in mind the mission, and make more achievements in the new era. Tang Hongbo said.

Dong Ability: The spirit of manned spaceflight is a spiritual monument for generations of astronauts

In 2006, Dong Li entered the China Manned Space Engineering Office and has since devoted himself to China's manned space industry. As a member of the overall engineering team, he participated in the development and construction of the space station throughout the process.

Such a large and complex system engineering of manned spaceflight is inseparable from the lean and efficient overall design department. Today, Dong Neng, director of the General Technology Bureau of the China Manned Space Engineering Office and assistant to the chief designer of China's manned space project, has a deeper understanding of the spirit of manned spaceflight and the dream of flying.

"The spirit of manned spaceflight, as I understand it, is a vivid embodiment of the national spirit with patriotism as the core and the spirit of the times with reform and innovation as the core, and is a spiritual monument to generations of astronauts." Dong Neng said.

At the beginning of the space station project, Chinese astronauts faced many problems. For example, what kind of space station director, what kind of technical route to take, how to build... The task is daunting.

"The space station project has been prepared for ten years, and many of our design researchers have been building Chinese their own space station as a pursuit and dream for ten years, so that one key technology after another can be broken through, and one complex technical problem after another can be solved." Dong Neng said.

Sun Jun: A strivers who live behind the scenes and dedicate themselves silently

Sun Jun is the chief mission engineer of the space station at the Beijing Aerospace Flight Control Center. For 26 years, he has participated in the flight control of various missions from Shenzhou 1 to the space station stage on the front line, and witnessed the great leaps and brilliant achievements of the project.

"Manned spaceflight engineering is a highly difficult giant system project, our center plays the role of flight control 'nerve center', we must ensure that hundreds of thousands of telemetry parameters and remote control commands are not bad, orbit control to be accurate to milliseconds, millimeters." Sun Jun said.

"The reason why China's aerospace industry has been able to continuously achieve world-renowned achievements and brilliance is inseparable from the hard work and dedication of every astronaut." Sun Jun said that only by maintaining the posture of a strivers and climbers, doing everything well, completing every task, and fulfilling every responsibility can we go further and more steadily in the pace of exploring space.

Berlin Hou: Keeping in mind the original mission, casting a big country heavy weapon

Berlin Hou, from the overall design department of the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group, is a "post-80s" astronaut like Wang Ke.

In the more than ten years that he participated in the work of Berlin Hou, he successively participated in the development of manned spacecraft such as Tiangong-1 and Tiangong-2. In the space station mission, he is mainly responsible for the operation management of the entire space station and related ground development work as the deputy chief designer.

"After more than ten years of experience in major engineering models, I have the honor to grow from an ordinary designer to a deputy chief designer of a space station, and now my team and I have the greatest wish is to build, operate, manage and apply our nationally independent space station well, and contribute our own strength to the construction of a space power." Berlin Hou said.

The key technology of spacecraft is the paving stone of China's manned space road, and conquering key technologies is the duty and obligation of astronauts. In the Fifth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group, in addition to the "post-70s" and "post-80s" in the research and development team, there are also old comrades who have worked for more than 30 years, as well as "post-90s" and "post-95s" who have just graduated. Here, they are conscientious and carrying the banner of independent innovation, and further carry forward the spirit of manned spaceflight.

"With such a team and such a spirit, we will conquer more and more key technologies, and the road of manned spaceflight will surely go farther and farther and wider." Berlin Hou said.
