In 1950, Wang Zhenbin was only twenty-five or six years old, he joined the army in 1940, a native of northern Jiangsu, when he was still a small soldier, now he has grown into a tall man of one meter and eight meters, with a square face, a broad forehead, a capable speech, a strong personality, a company commander, and rich combat experience.
On October 31, 1950, this person again received a difficult task, ordering his troops (the number was 39th Army 113th Division 346 Regiment 2nd Battalion 4th Company) to insert like a sharp knife into the Town of Yunshan directly pounding the U.S. army command post, and this person took the order to leave.
Calmly responding to battles is like a sharp knife
It was more than 9 o'clock at night when the march to Yunshan, five fingers were not visible, and on the high ground not far from the left and right sides of the advance was a firefight with the American troops, while the four companies did not encounter the enemy in the direction of movement, until they marched to the bridgehead on the east side of the Yunshan Mountain, they exchanged fire with the enemy, and incidentally solved a small mortar position of the US army, captured six mortars, and captured five or six people.
Subsequently, Wang Zhenbin led four companies to touch the Yunshan Street, and from a distance, they could see the US soldiers patrolling the streets, and in the dark night, several enemies scattered by the volunteers who were good at night fighting were dragged into the wooden houses on the side of the street in pairs to solve the problem, and the US troops did not know that the volunteers had entered the town of Yunshan.
It wasn't until a soldier named Zhao Zilin blew up a US tank and suddenly burst into flames that the enemy realized that something was wrong and rushed to battle.
At this time, the enemy command post located in a primary school in Yunshan also began to be attacked by volunteers, and a large number of soldiers launched an attack on the American position, in addition to the explosion of gunshots and grenades, the sound of many whistles and small horns was also issued at any time, and the sound was high-pitched, which was a tool for the ancestors to communicate with each other in close combat, but the American soldiers would be upset when they heard it.
As they approached the command post, many grenades were thrown in, and an enemy battalion commander was killed on the spot, and it was later learned that this person was Robert, commander of the Third Battalion of the Eighth Regiment of the First Cavalry Division.
As the old saying goes: birds fly headlessly, people walk without heads, the destruction of the command post plunges the enemy into chaos, and the soldiers begin to scatter and flee, which lays the foundation for our quick settlement of the Battle of Yunshan.
It can be said that Wang Zhenbin and the fourth company gloriously completed the combat mission, and a chief named Du Ping once evaluated him in 8 words in his memoirs:
"Bold, heart as thin as hair".

"From the enemy gap straight into the Cloud Mountain, in one fell swoop into the street to win the victory"
The hero also survived the war, and eventually became the deputy commander of the 116th Division until his retirement.
The battle at Yunshan Town was only part of the Sino-AMERICAN Battle of Yunshan, and after the end of this battle, the overall result of the 39th Army was to severely damage the FIRST Cavalry Division of the US Army, resulting in the casualties of this ace unit of more than 2,000 people, a total of 28 tanks, more than 170 vehicles, 119 artillery pieces of various kinds, and a large number of related ammunition, and also shot down one aircraft and captured 4 aircraft, but these 4 aircraft were destroyed by the US fighters who came later.
In short, this was the first collision between China and the United States, the volunteer army won the victory, and the heroic soul was comforted.
