On October 19, 2018, the "Second Round of Master Apprenticeship Project" was officially launched.

What is different from the first round is that the second round added short-term art teaching links, taking the first five "Crafts and Folk Art Capitals" craft inheritance workstations identified by Hangzhou as the pilot, taking ceramics, hand embroidery, bronze carving, wood carving and fan art as the five teaching skills, and using the "long-term apprenticeship (three-year) + short-term art teaching (January period)" model.

In the long-term class, 5 masters select apprentices to cultivate excellent inheritance "successors" in the form of three years of full-time learning.

The five masters are: Guo Yi, master of arts and crafts of Zhejiang Province, Jin Jiahong, master of arts and crafts of Zhejiang Province, Zheng Shengning, master of arts and crafts of Zhejiang Province, Zhu Junmin, master of arts and crafts of Zhejiang Province, and Sun Yaqing, master of arts and crafts of Zhejiang Province.

In the past three years, the five apprentice mentors have worked diligently and conscientiously to develop personalized teaching plans. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Internet was used to conduct video and graphic "cloud teaching" for apprentices who studied at home. At the same time, it pays attention to the comprehensive cultivation of apprentices' professional qualifications, design capabilities and cultural literacy, and strives to cultivate compound talents.

After three years of training, 2 Hangzhou arts and crafts masters, 4 arts and crafts artists and 2 assistant arts and crafts artists have been produced among the 14 apprentices, and 34 awards have been won in the arts and crafts industry, including 11 gold awards (first prize), 13 silver awards (second prize), 7 bronze awards (third prizes) and 3 excellent awards.

More popular is also the short-term transfer class project, which is the "second round of master apprenticeship project" new teaching link, during 2019-2021, respectively, hand embroidery, ceramics, wood carving, bronze carving four skills of short-term transfer class, imparted 100 outstanding craft inheritors and cultural and creative talents, expanding the scope of inheritance.

Among the 100 students in the four short-term study classes, 83% of the students are still studying in the arts and crafts industry, 37% of the students have established studios, 38% of the students have participated in the arts and crafts exhibition and won awards, and some students have won the honors of municipal craftsmen, district-level non-hereditary inheritors, arts and crafts artists, etc.

On November 25, 2021, the completion summary meeting of the "Second Round of Master Apprenticeship Project" was held, and under the witness of the mentors, 14 apprentices successfully completed the course with excellent results.

Chen Gang, director of the Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum, introduced that as the main organizer of the "second round of master apprentice project", the Gongmei Museum is responsible for the service and management of the project. In the past three years, they have visited masters, apprentices and students more than 50 times, organized and held 3 annual summary evaluation meetings, 3 special research meetings, and completed nearly 200 documents and archives and more than 800 photo archives.

This closure is not only the end of a project, but also the beginning of a new phase -

The second round of the exhibition of the achievements of the master and apprentice will be held in the first half of 2022 at the Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum, comprehensively displaying the learning achievements of the students in the past three years, and holding a full-time ceremony.
