On December 16, according to IT Home, Sony Group of Companies announced that it has developed a robot capable of moving steadily and efficiently on uneven roads.
IT Home learned that the bottom of the robot adopts a six-legged wheel design, and the leg structure consists of six wheeled drives. The robot uses wheels on flat ground, while in places with height differences, such as stairs, wheels and legs are used to move up and down. Sony said the design allows the robot to operate stably and efficiently on uneven and uneven roads.
The model inherits the design concept of Sony's quadripedal walking robot, which was presented at the International Conference on Intelligent Robotics and Systems 2021 (IROS 2021), which can disperse the leg load during operation or at rest. This design enables the robot to transport heavy loads of up to 20 kg, maintaining high operational efficiency.
Sony said the robot is being developed at Sony's research and development center.
