Protection of the Ming Tombs

In the second year of Shunzhi, Duo Duo took the generals to pacify Jiangnan, and when he was stationed in Nanjing, he personally went to the Ming Tombs, and also instructed the monks at the Linggu Temple to take good care of the Ming Tombs, and later arranged some more people to guard the Ming Tombs.
During the Kangxi Dynasty, the Kangxi Emperor visited the Ming Tomb five times and offered the highest etiquette of three kneeling and nine prayers, which alone is enough to show the importance that the Qing rulers attached to the Ming Tomb. Of course, the reason for this is because the Qing rulers attached great importance to the relationship between the Qing and Han Dynasties, and it was precisely because of this political trend at that time that the Ming Xiaoling Tomb was very completely preserved, and during the Xianfeng years of the Qing Dynasty, because of the turmoil, the Ming Xiaoling Tomb was eroded by a lot of wars and became dilapidated, and Zeng Guopan spent a huge amount of money to repair the Ming Xiaoling.
During the Xuan reunification period, at that time, the Governor of Liangjiang Yangwu Bureau Daotai and Jiangning Province would be ranked by Wenwu, so a very eye-catching notice was set up in front of the Ming Tomb, asking every tourist who came to visit the Ming Tomb to pay attention to his behavior and not to scribble. Under such strict protection, the Ming Tombs have been preserved intact until now.
Even during the brief period of the Republic of China, the Ming Tombs were still protected by the government.
