Children's myopia glasses are not qualified to harm the big buy remember 5 points

Recently, the Guangxi Consumer Rights and Interests Protection Commission released a comparative test report on children's glasses. The report shows that among the 24 samples, 22 children's glasses samples met the requirements of national standards, 10 excellent performance won five stars, 11 performed well and won four stars, 1 performed well and won three and a half stars; 2 children's glasses samples in the optical center horizontal deviation, optical center unilateral horizontal deviation, optical center vertical mutual difference and other test items did not meet the national standards, and were not evaluated.

It is reported that inferior glasses will affect the astigmatism axis, nose bridge development and amblyopia treatment effect, resulting in the deepening of myopia. Long-term wearing of unqualified glasses can even cause blurred vision and decreased vision.

In order to understand the quality of children's fitting glasses, the Guangxi Consumer Protection Commission randomly purchased from major shopping malls and glasses stores in Nanning, Liuzhou, Guigang, Beihai, Qinzhou and other cities, and customized a total of 24 children's fitting glasses products on the spot according to relevant data. The samples involved Brands such as Xinhua Glasses, Baodao Glasses, Essence Glasses, and Eye Color Glasses, with prices ranging from a few hundred yuan to more than 2,000 yuan.

The test involved 9 indicators, including dome top focal length deviation, optical center horizontal deviation, optical center unilateral horizontal deviation, optical center vertical mutual difference, lens material and surface quality, transmission ratio, minimum thickness of the lens reference point, frame appearance quality, assembly quality.

The top focal length (including spherical and column lens) is one of the important indicators for testing the quality of the fitted glasses. Wearing glasses with poor top focal length directly leads to under-correction or over-correction of vision, causing fatigue, incomplete adjustment function and prolonged adjustment reaction time, which hurts the vision health of the person wearing glasses. After inspection, the focal deviation of the top of the sample spherical mirror in this comparative test meets the standard requirements.

In terms of the horizontal deviation of the optical center, the national standard is to determine the tolerance of the horizontal deviation of the optical center according to the size of the top focal value, and the horizontal distance tolerance of the sample optical center of the sample in this comparative test is ±2.00mm, and the closer the absolute value of the difference is to zero, the better the product quality. After inspection, the horizontal deviation of the optical center of 1 sample did not meet the national standard.

In terms of unilateral horizontal deviation of the optical center, if the horizontal distance of the optical center of the glasses does not match the distance of the pupil or the horizontal optical center of the glasses and the unilateral distance of the pupil, the wearer will have a feeling of blurred vision, physical deformation, and even dizziness, headache and vomiting. Long-term wearing of such glasses may cause strabismus in the eyes and increase the degree of myopia. After inspection, the unilateral horizontal deviation of the optical center of the two samples did not meet the national standard.

In terms of optical center vertical difference, optical center vertical difference refers to the difference in the height of the optical center of two lenses. The national standard is based on the size of the top focal value to determine the size of the vertical mutual difference of the optical center, the vertical mutual difference of the sample optical center of this comparative test is required to be ≤ 1.00mm, the closer the difference is to zero, the better the product quality. After inspection, the vertical mutual difference of the optical center of 1 sample does not meet the national standard.

For the assembly requirements of children's glasses, the main tests are several aspects: the color of the two lens materials should be basically the same; if the metal glasses are purchased, the gap between the metal frame glasses lock takeover ≤ 0.5mm; the geometry of the lenses and the lens ring should be basically similar and aligned left and right, and there is no obvious gap after assembly; the shaping requirements of the left and right mirror surfaces should be kept relatively flat, and the pallet should be symmetrical; the appearance should be free of chipping edges, pincer marks, peeling of the plating (coating) layer and obvious scratches, parts defects and other issues. The sample assembly quality of this comparative test is good, and all meet the requirements of national standards.

Children's vision is in the development stage, if the fitting glasses are not qualified, it may cause children's vision is not clear, eyes are sore, dizzy and headache problems, and even deepen the number of visual strength. How to choose the more suitable accessories for children? In this regard, the Guangxi Consumer Protection Commission reminds consumers that the key premise for choosing glasses is optometry. It is recommended to go to an eye hospital or a professional optical shop for optometry. Under the premise of the known children's optometry list, consumers can refer to the following points for purchase:

The first is to check whether the fitting shop has a business license and other certificates, whether the optometrist and the fitting worker have the corresponding professional certificate qualifications; check whether the optometry instruments and equipment are within the verification cycle.

The second is to check whether the lenses and frame packaging have certificates, factory names and addresses, contact numbers, implementation standards and other information. When choosing lenses, pay attention to surface finish, perspective clarity, and whether there are no flaws. The choice of spectacle frames should consider the size of the spectacle frame, whether the material is suitable for the child, after selection must be adjusted according to the child's face shape, so that the glasses and the child's nose and ear shape fit, to avoid the phenomenon of glasses slipping.

The third is to check the quality of the glasses. After fitting, you can wear glasses to see the long-range and close-up views, and whether there are serious uncomfortable symptoms. If so, after excluding eye diseases, bad eye habits and other factors, the spectacles should be checked for quality problems.

Fourth, children wearing glasses should be regularly optometrized, and once the refraction parameters and the glasses they are equipped with exceed the standard requirements, it is recommended to re-dispense the glasses.

Fifth, it is recommended that children with vision conditions such as amblyopia and strabismus try to go to an eye hospital for optometry and glasses.
