On December 15th, the "Chengdu European Culture Season 2021" series of activities "Diverse Italy – From Alinari to Contemporary Photography Masters" exhibition opened at the Special Imagination Art Space in Jinniu District. Co-sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chengdu Municipal People's Government, the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing and the People's Government of Jinniu District, the exhibition will last until January 29, 2022.
Look for "diverse" Italy in the image
With the strong support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Consulate General in Chongqing and the Italian Alinari Photography Foundation, the Cultural Season has successfully introduced a diverse Italy – from the Alinari to the exhibition of contemporary photographic masters. The exhibition brings together the works of 75 famous photographers, who record and tell the history and customs of Italy over the past 160 years through unique perspectives and exquisite skills, presenting the audience with a deep and vibrant and diverse Italy.
The exhibition is divided into three chapters – Landscapes, Works and Faces – each of which constructs a visual path that captures the changes in the evolution of the Italian state from the perspectives of geography, history and art: North and South, City and Country, Work and Leisure, Tradition and Innovation, Social History and Cultural Life. As the works unfold like scrolls, a wonderful and vivid Italy gradually becomes clear.
Seek the right resonance in the collision
In order to promote Sino-Italian cultural exchanges, during the event, the Jinniu District Xinqiao Community Center, where the photo exhibition was held, also exhibited the exhibition of Jinniu's local photographic works - "Harmony between People and Water, Golden Bull of Shadow and Language". The exhibition shows the beautiful ecology of the Taurus sky, blue water, blue mountains and pure land through the lens, as well as the happy life of the citizens in harmony and friendship. Although thousands of miles apart, through each photo, the audience can appreciate the love for the landscape of their hometown, the thinking about life, and the respect for nature and life that the artists of Liyi photography share.
Xinqiao Community is the "Hometown of Chinese Folk Characteristic Art (Photography)" named by the Ministry of Culture, and the community has created a 37,000-square-meter photography cultural characteristic block, with high-quality photography cultural and creative projects such as the National Intangible Cultural Heritage "Lin Yao • YaYao", as well as cultural and artistic venues such as The Special Imagination Art Space and the "Chengdu Contemporary Image Museum".
Since its first holding in 2017, the "Chengdu European Culture Season" has successfully introduced more than 40 high-quality cultural and artistic activities, becoming a bridge of friendship between the people of Rong and Europe, and an important platform for promoting the resonance of the cultures of the two places. In the future, the cultural season will give full play to the radiation effect of the platform, effectively integrate the resources of all parties, and promote friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between Rong and Europe.
