A few days ago, Mazda's new MX-5 (Japan's Roadster) was officially released, the most eye-catching of which is the 990s lightweight special edition, which weighs only 990kg. New cars are available for pre-order in Japan and are expected to be available in mid-January, with a pre-price range of 2,623,500 yen to 3,922,600 yen (equivalent to 146,300 to 218,800 yuan).

First of all, it is worth mentioning that the new Mazda MX-5 applies a new technology called KPC (KINEMATIC POSTURE CONTROL), which can control the suspension so that the vehicle has a smoother body attitude under different dynamics to improve vehicle stability.
The 990s version further reduces the under-spring mass and applies a lighter chassis and engine technology, resulting in a weight of only 990kg, providing a lighter sense of all-in-one driving. The new car will only be supplied with a 6-speed manual transmission for 2,893,000 yen (161,400 yuan).
The 990s version uses RAYS forged 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels (RAYS ze40rs) with each rim weighing about 800g, further reducing the under-spring mass. At the same time, the front wheels of the new car use black painted brembo opposed 4-piston calipers, matching the brembo large size ventilation discs, and the rear wheels also use large brake pads and black calipers. In addition, the shock absorbers, springs, electric power steering and engine components of the new car are exclusively tuned.
