Du Yide was a platoon leader of the Red 1st Division at that time, and seeing that the attack was delayed, he was so angry that he squatted on the ground and pounded the ground with his hands.
Du Yide found that the soil here was very soft, and he thought of a way to do it, saying, "Find me a coffin at once!" ”
Everyone thought that Du Yide would hold the determination to die and bury himself in the coffin after death, but Du Yide laughed angrily: "Lao Tzu has not lived enough!" This coffin was sent to the enemy army to the western heavens! Another time, Xu Xiangqian led the Red Army to attack the Garden Station near Wuhan, and deliberately ordered the general to let Du Yide gnaw the hard bone of Garden Town.
Du Yide commanded the troops to attack, but the enemy army hid in an ancestral hall, the firepower was very fierce, and the situation could not be opened for a long time. Du Yide found that many parts of this ancestral hall were built of wood, so he made a clever move to let the warriors take cover, and he took two warriors, each carrying firewood and grass, around the aisle next to the ancestral hall, and piled up the firewood.

In 1942, Du Yide was appointed deputy brigade commander of the New 4th Brigade of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army, fighting in the Southern Hebei War. Du Yide said at the meeting: "If we are chased around by the Japanese army like this, we will be finished sooner or later, there are many plains in southern Hebei, and we have no advantage on the ground, so we will make a fuss underground." ”
