The release of Diablo 2 Remake was hampered by the controversy surrounding Activision Blizzard, and the re-release of the classic ARPG has become less popular, but that hasn't stopped Blizzard from providing it with strong post-release support. In fact, the development team is moving towards exciting prospects. Diablo 2 Remake will soon be the first Ladder season, full of new content and balance tweaks.
With the start of the remake's first Ladder season, Blizzard will provide players with a completely unique way to experience this 21-year-old ARPG. The patch at the beginning of Ladder will make balance adjustments for all characters, and the last time Diablo 2 received a balance adjustment was the 1.13c patch, which was released on March 23, 2010, which means that this is the first official balance change in more than a decade.
In addition to the balance adjustments, new content and features will also be added to the game, most notably new rune languages. These will be unique to the Ladder for the duration of the Ladder and then added to the base game after the season ends. Blizzard will also introduce new Hradik Cube recipes that will improve the quality of the set's equipment. Blizzard will also add some brand new set bonuses, and in addition to the new set bonuses, no new equipment will be added for this first Ladder season.
At present, Blizzard has not announced the planned release date of the first ladder season, but it should be announced soon. If the first Ladder season of Diablo 2 Remake is successful, this could be a compelling argument for further building the original Diablo 2 experience.
