The absconding murderer has not yet arrived at the case, which has become a knot in the hearts of the police handling the case. In the past 14 years, the special case team has continued to investigate Wang Moujian's residence, family, and important life nodes, and according to the clues it has, it has rushed to many provinces and cities to carry out arrests, but it has not returned. Where did he go?

For this kind of homicide backlog, the Shanghai police have always attached great importance to it, using increasingly developed criminal investigation technology and investing professional police forces to tackle tough problems. This year, a key clue was captured by the police: a man in Linyi, Shandong Province, who was about thirty years old and named "Gao Fei", had confided in others after drinking that he had killed people in Shanghai and had been on the run for many years.

According to this clue, the Criminal Investigation Corps of the Municipal Bureau, together with the Criminal Investigation Detachment of the Pudong Public Security Bureau, set up a special case team to carry out information verification of "Gao Fei". During the visit, some local residents reported that the man "Goofy" was currently in close contact with a woman, and later successfully obtained photos of "Goofy's current life" through the investigation of the woman's peripheral visits. After information combing and comparison, "Gao Fei" is highly similar to the physical characteristics of the criminal suspect Wang Moujian at that time, and the age is also consistent.

After a meticulous investigation and visit in the early stage, at about 12 o'clock on October 20 this year, the special case team, with the assistance of the Shandong police, arrested "Goofy" in a company in Linyi City, Shandong Province. After arriving at the case, he admitted that he was Wang Moujian at that time.

According to Wang Moujian's account, on the day of the crime in 2007, he clashed with someone in a bar on the Hunan Highway, stabbed and injured people with a knife, and fled. Later, he learned that the person who had been stabbed was dead and went to escape justice. During these years, he has traveled to Wuxi, Changzhou and other places, mostly collecting waste for a living, and only in 2014 did he dare to return to his hometown in Linyi, Shandong. Fearing being tracked down by the public security organs, he did not dare to meet his relatives, so he hid in a local village, worked in a plate factory in the village to earn a living, and also got to know his current "wife". For 14 years, Wang Moujian did not dare to expose his identity, and lied to his wife that he was a supernatural "black household" and could not apply for an IDENTITY card, so he has not yet applied for a marriage license with his "wife".

At present, the criminal suspect Wang Moujian has been approved for arrest according to law, and the case is being further handled.
