On December 14, Times Finance visited the motor vehicle inspection site and vehicle management office in Chaoyang District of Beijing, and found that almost all the new energy vehicles waiting for inspection and licensed vehicles were Tesla.
It is reported that when a motor vehicle is licensed in Beijing, it is necessary to first go to a third-party testing site for vehicle inspection, and then go to the vehicle management office for general inspection after inspection, and finally complete the selection of numbers and the collection of license plates. At present, the delivery plan implemented by Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory is as follows: the first half of each quarter's production capacity is mainly for export, and the second half is mainly for local use. With the arrival of the last month of the fourth quarter, Tesla also ushered in the peak period of domestic delivery.
On December 12, an aerial photograph of Tesla's Shanghai factory leaked out, and about 1,500 new cars were about to be shipped to sales centers in various places for delivery.
On December 14, Times Finance visited Beijing Shenghua Motor Vehicle Inspection Field and Beijing Branch of Vehicle Management Office of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau Public Security Traffic Management Bureau. At the scene of the testing site, Times Finance saw that most of the new energy detection lanes lined up for inspection were Tesla models. According to rough statistics, of the 8 new energy vehicles that were queuing for inspection at that time, 5 were Tesla models.

The staff of the testing plant said, "There are many Tesla cars in the past few days, and the queues will begin at more than 8 o'clock in the morning, and there may be dozens of cars in half a day." And the owner of the scene also revealed to Times Finance, "I came at more than 8 o'clock in the morning, there may be more than 20 cars in front of me in line, and almost all of them are Tesla models at a glance." ”
"Now the car pick-up is basically the owner of the order placed before October." On the same day, a Tesla sales person in Beijing told Times Finance that if you place an order now, the fastest pick-up time will be until March next year. "We are now scheduling production of export vehicles in the first month of each quarter, and if the production of domestic supply vehicles in this quarter is exhausted, the pick-up time will not be In April, but until May and June next year."
Times Finance saw on Tesla China's official website that the current domestic Model 3/Y is expected to deliver in the first quarter of 2022, while the Model S/X shows that "the price and specific configuration will be released near the delivery, and a notice will be received to select the order." According to the official website in November this year, the delivery date of the Model S/X has been delayed until the end of next year.
In addition, there are reports that with the delivery of the Model Y high-performance version, Tesla has also ushered in a wave of purchases, and the Tesla delivery center in Beijing Crab Island is "fully loaded" every day on weekends.
It is reported that on September 9 this year, the Beijing Crab Island Tesla Center was officially inaugurated, which covers an area of 12,000 square meters, which is the largest delivery center for Tesla's single area in Asia. The delivery center adopts a modular assembly line delivery model, intelligent delivery system, and the first floor is the delivery area, which can deliver more than 100 new cars at the same time. At the same time, car owners can also experience self-service pick-up here.
"The delivery hall on the first floor of the Crab Island Delivery Center is now full of brand new vehicles that are not licensed, and there are many people watching and picking up cars every weekend, and there is basically no time to rest." The Shanghai plant expanded production again
Under the grand situation of listing and delivery in various places, Tesla's domestic delivery volume in December is also highly anticipated.
In fact, in September this year, the phenomenon of Tesla cars crowding out the vehicle management office was also exposed. Subsequently, Tesla China handed over a rather eye-catching report card: September sales reached 56,006 vehicles, an increase of 394% year-on-year, of which domestic sales reached 52,153 vehicles in the same month, an increase of more than 300% year-on-year.
According to the data of the Association of Automobile Associations, in November this year, Tesla's wholesale sales in China reached 52,859 vehicles, an increase of 111% year-on-year, and monthly sales exceeded 50,000 units for three consecutive months. As of November, Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory delivered 413283 units in FY 2021, up 242% year-on-year.
Under the continuous increase in delivery volume, tesla production capacity pressure may further increase. Recently, the Shanghai factory has also reported news of re-expansion. According to media reports at the end of November, Tesla conducted an environmental impact assessment of the second phase of the Shanghai Gigafactory (Phase I) production line optimization project. According to the EIA report, the total investment in the production line optimization project is as high as 1.2 billion yuan, of which the environmental protection investment is 85 million yuan, accounting for 7.08%, and construction is expected to start in December this year and be completed in April next year.
On December 15, Times Finance interviewed Tesla China on production capacity issues, Shanghai factory expansion and other news, and its relevant sources responded that "there is no further news for the time being."
It is worth mentioning that in the near future, or affected by factors such as rising raw material costs and new energy subsidies, Tesla has set off multiple rounds of price adjustments.
According to times finance and economics, on November 19, Tesla China's official website showed that the price of the domestic Model 3 rear-wheel drive version was raised by 15,000 yuan to 250,900 yuan, and then the price of the model was raised by 4752 yuan again in the following week; the price of the domestic Model Y rear-wheel drive version also rose by 4752 yuan. For the latest price increase, Tesla said, "The price adjustment is affected by factors such as the decline of new energy subsidies." ”
For the price change of the delivery of new cars in the first quarter of next year, on December 14, a Tesla sales in Guangzhou told Times Finance that the subsidy for new energy vehicles will decline by 30% next year, which is about 4,000 yuan, but the specific time for the reduction has not yet come out, if you rush to deliver the car before the reduction, you can still pick up the car according to the previous price. It also revealed, "Now the subtraction is likely to be in the first quarter, but I am not sure which day, our delivery time is also the first quarter, we and the subtraction time to do a race to see which comes first." ”
