On December 14, Tencent confirmed that Mao Xingyun had died unexpectedly on the morning of December 11, and out of respect for the wishes of his family and the deceased, he could not disclose more relevant information for the time being.
However, it is this "unexpected death of excellent game programmers" news, after the spread of various short video platforms, but it has triggered a public opinion attack, such as "earned the money that should not be earned, finally there is retribution" and other bad words appear from time to time.

Mao Xingyun is recognized as a "big god" in the industry, with outstanding professional ability, and not long ago announced the establishment of Tianmei F1 Studio on Zhihu, saying that it will focus on original AAA and open world games. "When the news of his death came out, everyone couldn't believe it." Mao Xingyun is suspected of depression and was hospitalized for some time some time due to certain physical reasons.
I am also a parent of a junior high school student, and my child has also been addicted to games. To be honest, I personally don't have the slightest liking for online games. But, reason tells me, it's not the game programmer's fault that kids are addicted to games. Even if we "hate games anymore", we should not transfer this "hatred" to game programmers, let alone programmers in a tragedy.
Mao Xingyun, who is a game programmer, is an excellent person.
