According to data from the Association of Passenger Vehicles, retail sales of passenger cars in the second week of December were 363,000 units, down -9% year-on-year, down -8% from the previous week, and up 17% from the same period last month. Wholesale passenger cars totaled 437,000 units, down -3% year-on-year, down -7% from the previous week and up 30% from the same period last month.

Retail sales in the overall narrow passenger car market in the first week of December reached an average of 40,000 units per day, down 17% year-on-year and up 1% from the first week of November this year.

The overall narrow passenger car market retail sales in the second week of December reached an average of 52,000 units per day, down 9% year-on-year and performing relatively well, up 17% from the second week of November this year.

In the first two weeks of December, the overall figure reached 561,000 units, an average of 47,000 units per day, down 12% year-on-year and 11% higher than the same period in November. Due to the obvious improvement in production from October to November this year, the retail sales recovery in December should be more obvious, but the current recovery rate is still not fast. But it is similar to the state of 2019 and is also a better performance.

The Association also pointed out that in the first week of December, the average daily wholesale of narrow passenger cars was 46,000 units, down 12% year-on-year. This week was up 17% relative to the first week of November.

In the second week of December, the full-caliber passenger car in the narrow sense averaged 62,000 units per day, down 3% year-on-year, and the trend was relatively strong this week compared to the second week of November, when sales increased by 30%.

According to preliminary statistics, the overall wholesale number reached 668,000 units in the first two weeks of December, an average of 56,000 units per day, down 6% year-on-year and 25% higher than in the same period in November.
