The emperor claimed to be the True Dragon Heavenly Son, saying that he was a true dragon, so he often used the dragon as an ornament in his life. At that time, the dragon was also the exclusive property of the emperor, and the emperor's chair had to be carved with the pattern of the dragon. The dragon chair should also be painted with the emperor's exclusive color gold, and it can be said that the dragon chair is only the emperor who can sit. Others will inevitably be suspected when they sit, but in ancient China, there was a child who not only sat but also played on it, and the emperor asked him if the Son of Heaven was good at doing it? The child answered with four words, and finally this child inherited the throne, and this child was named Zhao Heng.
Zhao Heng was born on December 2, the sixth year of Qiande (968), and his father was Zhao Guangyi. The brother of the emperor of the dynasty, and the emperor was Zhao Kuangyin, who released the military power with a cup of wine. Zhao Kuangyin was born in the second year of the Later Tang Dynasty (March 21, 927), Zhao Kuangyin grew up in a military family, and after devoting himself to Guo Wei, he made many military achievements, and later followed Guo Wei, who was called emperor, and held important positions in later Zhou.
After the little emperor ascended the throne, the government was controlled by the ministers. On the first day of the first lunar month of the seventh year of Xiande (960), the chancellor heard that the Khitan and the Northern Han Dynasty were going to fight them, and without finding out the situation, he was frightened and let Zhao Kuangyin lead his troops north. When Zhao Kuangyin was resting at Chen Qiaoyi with a large army, his men said on the night of the second day of the first year that the little emperor was too young to personally govern, and who could know if we fought hard for him? Therefore, Zhao Kuangyi and his cronies forcibly added a yellow robe to Zhao Kuangyin, who had just woken up.
Due to the suddenness of the incident, they occupied the capital city of Kaifeng without bloodshed, and the emperor was forced to give way. Zhao Kuangyin became emperor, and in the face of the fragmented world, Zhao Kuangyin was an ambitious emperor, and he conquered the Southern Tang, Northern Han, and Khitan one by one. Neither emperor was likely to tolerate sleeping peacefully on the couch, especially the founding emperor who seized the throne.
Zhao Heng's father, Zhao Kuangyi, avoided colliding with the emperor's name after he ascended the throne, and changed his name to Zhao Guangyi. Zhao Guangyi accompanied the emperor in his conquests, and the emperor also trusted him. Therefore, Zhao Heng also had many contacts in the palace since he was a child, and the little boy was mischievous when he took advantage of the fact that the palace people did not pay attention to himself and ran to zhao Kuangyin's main hall to play, and also climbed onto the dragon chair, at this time, it was a coincidence that Zhao Kuangyin and Zhao Guangyi walked in. This frightened Zhao Guangyi, who hurriedly knelt down and said that Zhao Heng was young and did not understand things, and naughtily climbed onto the emperor's dragon chair, hoping that the emperor would not blame.
Zhao Kuangyin just smiled and asked Zhao Heng: Is Tianzi easy to do? Zhao Heng's answer at that time was: "Just obey the Mandate of Heaven." This answer made Zhao Kuangyin laugh, this is also fate, who would have thought that the original minister would now succeed in becoming emperor? Although Zhao Kuangyin won the world by force, he was relatively benevolent, just like the previously mentioned, he did not wantonly slaughter the heroes, but only let them hand over the power in their hands. Therefore, he did not pay attention to this nephew, and out of love, he later took Zhao Heng into the palace to live.
And Zhao Heng was able to become emperor because of his father Zhao Guangyi, Zhao Kuangyin suddenly died while drinking with Zhao Guangyi on a certain occasion, and it was not long before Zhao Guangyi ascended the throne. There is also much speculation about Zhao Kuangyin's death, no matter how Zhao Heng became the crown prince. Zhao Heng was young, and according to the tradition of Chinese Lichang, he was out of touch with the throne. But his eldest brother Zhao Yuanzuo, although Wen Wushuang did not know why he was mad because his uncle was wrongfully killed.
Then another brother, Zhao Yuanyou, visited Zhao Yuanzuo after the banquet, and Zhao Yuanzuo knew that his father would set up a banquet and burned the palace with a torch. As a result, Zhao Yuanzuo was deposed, and Zhao Yuanyou was then made crown prince, but in November of the third year of Chunhua (992), Zhao Yuanyou could not sleep after returning home from the dynasty, and Zhao Guangyi was deeply shocked, and the two crown princes were gone. In the end, Zhao Heng could only be made crown prince, and Zhao Heng sat on the throne again in response to his behavior in his youth.
