Constructing a living criticism, Ding Fan's latest collection of essays, "Xuansi Window Scenery", was published

Recently, Ding Fan, a professor at the College of Letters of Nanjing University, published his latest collection of essays, "Scenery Outside the Window of Xuansi", was published by the Commercial Press. The book includes a total of 57 academic essays and prose essays written by the author in recent years, including literary observation and cultural criticism, reflections on scenery and humanities, evaluation of the art of calligraphy and painting, memories of reading history and wine. The author tries to construct a living criticism, a living commentary, and a living theory with a literary feel.

Ding Fan was born in May 1952 in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. He is currently a professor and member of the Academic Committee of the College of Literature of Nanjing University, the president of the Society for the Study of Modern Chinese Literature, and the deputy director of the Theoretical Committee of the Chinese Writers Association. Since 1979, he has published nearly 10 million words of papers, essays and treatises, including "History of Chinese Vernacular Novels", "Coordinates of Aesthetic Value of Cultural Criticism", "Return to the Starting Line of "May Fourth", "Lamentations of Jiangnan", "Mr. Sketch" and so on.

The book "Scenery Outside the Window of Xuansi" includes academic essays and prose essays written by the author in recent years, divided into albums such as "Knowledge Wind Bone", "Literary Observation and Cultural Criticism", "Landscape Outside the Window", "Talking about Books and Paintings", "Zhengrong Years" and so on, which are both professional literary criticism and memories of reading small histories and wine events, etc., with a wide range of content, rich and interesting.

The title of the book alludes to the author's romantic ideal: xuansi, is a distant thought, although somewhat unrealistic, but there is still a literary and cultural fantasy. Outside the window, from near and far, from narrow to wide, are the long lens of history, we can not only read the sages and do not hear the things outside the window, literature can not be separated from society and politics. Landscapes are diverse, both in the past and in the present, as well as in the future, all in the reader's "inner eyes", and how to write with enthusiasm is the author's choice.
