Liu Mingqing, a well-known publisher, has been observing society, reflecting on human nature, reading history, and engaging in publishing for nearly a decade, and has created a collection of essays on "Ideals and Nostalgia", which held an online book club at the Fada Bookstore in the Haidian Campus of China University of Political Science and Law on the morning of April 21.
Liu Mingqing graduated from China University of Political Science and Law in his early years, and when the new book was published, the author returned to the campus of the University of Law to talk about his ideals and interpret nostalgia with young political science and law students.
In the preface to the collection of essays" "Ideals and Nostalgia", Liu Mingqing wrote, "12 years is exactly the time of a round of life. Twelve years ago, in 2009, I published a collection of essays in a similar style, From Angry Youth to a Thinker. The articles included in the book are basically my ideological miscellaneous feelings and reading notes written in the decade from 1999 to 2009. The current book, "Ideals and Nostalgia," can be seen as a sequel to my last work, From Angry Youth to Thinker. ”
Liu Mingqing said that 12 years have passed. In the past 12 years, not only has the country and society undergone unimaginable changes, but also his career and life have undergone several turning points; more importantly, he has quietly bid farewell to his youth with penghu ideals and set out for the second half of his life uncontrollably. In today's modern economic society, the public is more and more utilitarian "looking at money"; in such an awkward stage of life, it is indeed inappropriate to talk about a topic that seems to be an otherworldly ideal. But this just proves how scarce and precious ideals are in our time today.
It is worth mentioning that the poetry collection "Life Returns to the Countryside" that accompanies this new book contains 143 new poems, which is a collection of the essence of Liu Mingqing's 30 years of poetry creation. His poetry began in the 1980s. He is not only a contemporary of the poet Haizi, but also one of the campus poets who had in-depth exchanges with Haizi in the 1980s. Therefore, Liu Mingqing's poetry creation has a strong atmosphere of the 80s. Although most of the works included in the manuscript were created in recent years, the spiritual core and the art of written expression are obviously deeply influenced by Kitajima, Gu Cheng, Shu Ting, and especially Haizi. Mr. Ye Tingfang, a famous scholar, poet and researcher of German literature, specially recommended the preface to the poetry manuscript of this book before his death.
Liu Mingqing also admitted, "If my essay collection hides a faint voice that calls on readers and friends to "regain their ideals"; then my poetry collection exudes a faint "nostalgia" mood. The nostalgia of the old days may be a painful nightmare; today's nostalgia is related to the desolation of the hearts of modern people. ”
