Today, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage announced the tomb of Bailuyuan Jiangcun in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, as the tomb of Emperor Wen of Han.
Emperor Wen of Han, Liu Heng, was the middle son of Liu Bang, the ancestor of Han Gao, and his mother Bo Ji. After Liu Bang suppressed Chen Feng's rebellion in 196 BC, Liu Heng was made acting king. After the death of Han Gaozu, Lü Hou monopolized power. In 180 BC, Liu Heng, the acting king, entered Beijing as emperor, and during his reign of twenty-three years, he stabilized the feudal ruling order of the early Han Dynasty and restored the economy. The two-generation reign of his son Emperor Jing was known as the reign of Wen Jing.
Emperor Wen of Han attached great importance to agricultural production in order to encourage peasants to develop production. Decrees on rent reduction are often issued. Adopt a policy of appeasement and friendship towards ethnic minorities and do our best to maintain peaceful relations. Vigorously promoting the policy of encouraging horse breeding created conditions for Emperor Wu to carry out a large-scale counterattack against the Xiongnu later.
In 157 BC, Emperor Wen Liu Heng died at the age of forty-six and was buried in Baling.
The structural layout of the double mausoleum of the Han Dynasty Emperor Baling, the center of the imperial tomb, and the outer tibetan pit is of great significance to the in-depth study of the ancient Chinese imperial tomb system.
