Musk: In the future, Dogecoin will be able to use Dogecoin to buy some Tesla peripheral products

Dogecoin soared in the short term, and Tesla CEO Musk said on Tuesday that dogecoin will be used to buy some Tesla peripheral products in the future.

Musk said on social media on Tuesday that some of Tesla's merchandise can be purchased with the digital currency, and "Tesla will accept some goods with Dogecoin to see how things go and see how it goes."

After the news was released, Dogecoin soared 33% at one point, and has risen more than 20% in the past 24 hours.

Due to environmental concerns (digital currency mining pits consume huge power resources), Tesla previously stopped a plan to allow the purchase of Tesla cars with bitcoin.

However, as a supporter of digital currency, Musk has frequently expressed support for Dogecoin. He said he also became a proponent of the cryptocurrency after discovering that many of his employees owned Dogecoin.

Musk stressed that these people are "not financial experts or Silicon Valley technologists" and that the employees' support for Dogecoin makes him feel like it's the "people's cryptocurrency," which is why he decided to support the digital currency.

Musk revealed on social media that he does not hold any Shiba Inu coins, or any cryptocurrencies named after his pet dog, Floki. Instead, he said he only holds Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin.
