Jiwei Network News, recently, Fengyuan Lithium Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fengyuan Co., Ltd., signed a "Cooperation Agreement" with Penghui Energy, agreeing that Penghui Energy will purchase lithium iron phosphate and lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide (nickel 5 series, high nickel 8 series) products from Fengyuan Lithium energy from December 2021 to December 2022, with a total contract amount of about 800 million yuan.

With the continuous promotion of lithium batteries in the fields of new energy vehicles, energy storage, consumer electronics and other fields, the lithium battery and lithium battery cathode materials industry continues to maintain rapid development. Lithium batteries are mainly composed of several parts: positive electrode material, negative electrode material, separator, electrolyte and battery housing. At present, the main lithium battery cathode materials include lithium cobalt oxide, lithium manganate, lithium iron phosphate and ternary cathode materials, according to their different characteristics, the application field is also different. The cathode material is the decisive factor in the electrochemical properties of lithium batteries, which directly determines the energy density and safety of the battery, which in turn affects the comprehensive performance of the battery.

At present, the two cathode materials with the largest shipment volume of cathode materials in China are ternary materials and lithium iron phosphate. With the new subsidy policy on the high energy density and high mileage of attention to increase and subsidy decline brought about cost pressure, the new energy vehicle companies to accelerate the replacement of the original system power battery, one is high nickel and low cobalt ternary power battery, the second is that some models will use back lithium iron phosphate power battery. Due to the different performance characteristics of ternary materials and lithium iron phosphate, they have obvious advantages in their respective application fields, so the two cathode materials have a large demand space in their respective application fields.

It is understood that Fengyuan Co., Ltd. uses the independent research and development of production technology to break through and master the key process technology of high nickel ternary cathode material NCM811 such as the surface treatment technology of cathode material through strict trial production process. The company adopts special surface treatment technology combining washing, coating and drying to effectively reduce the residual lithium, sulfur and other impurities of high nickel layered cathode materials, and improve the surface stability, electrode processing performance and cycle life of the material. In the future, the company will continue to optimize the product structure, carry out product iterative upgrading and new product development to maintain the competitiveness of the industry.
