Driven by the dual carbon goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality", China's new energy vehicles have handed over a report card of production and marketing. Since 2015, China's new energy vehicle production and sales have ranked first in the world for 6 consecutive years, and domestic brands have risen rapidly. According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in November this year, the market demand for new energy vehicles was still strong, and the cumulative sales penetration rate from January to November increased to 12.7%.
In recent years, with the expansion of the market, new energy vehicles have shifted from policy-driven to market-driven. According to enterprise investigation data, there are currently 409,000 new energy vehicle-related enterprises in China, and Shandong Province ranks first in the country with 45,200 enterprises. Guangdong and Jiangsu ranked second and third respectively, with the number of enterprises being 42,300 and 32,900 respectively. From the perspective of urban distribution, Shanghai is the city with the largest number of new energy vehicle-related enterprises, with a total of 18,200 companies; followed by Shenzhen City and Chengdu City, with 15,200 enterprises and 14,800 enterprises respectively. In 2020, 83,800 new energy vehicle-related enterprises were newly registered, an increase of 63.84% year-on-year, and in the first 11 months of this year, a total of 158,700 new energy vehicle-related enterprises were newly registered, an increase of 120.7% year-on-year.
1. 158,700 registered in the first 11 months of 2021
According to the data of enterprise investigation, as of now, there are 409,000 enterprises in business and existing enterprises related to "new energy vehicles" in China. From the perspective of industry development, in the past decade, the number of new energy vehicle-related enterprises in China has continued to grow, and the new rate of enterprise addition has accelerated significantly since 2014, with a total of 0.98 million newly registered enterprises in that year, an increase of 97.45% year-on-year. In 2018, the number of registrations exceeded 50,000, and the number of registrations reached 83,800 in 2020, an increase of 63.84% year-on-year, which is the largest number of registrations in the past decade.
Judging from the number of registrations this year, the data of enterprise investigation shows that in the first eleven months of 2021, a total of 158,700 new energy vehicle-related enterprises in China registered, an increase of 120.7% year-on-year. Compared with 2020, the number of enterprise registrations related to new energy vehicles has increased even more this year.
Second, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chengdu have the largest number of enterprises
From the perspective of geographical distribution, Shandong, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan and other places have the largest number of enterprises, of which Shandong Province ranks first in the country with 45,200 enterprises. Guangdong and Jiangsu ranked second and third respectively, with the number of enterprises being 42,300 and 32,900 respectively. Shanghai is the only municipality directly under the central government that has been shortlisted for the top ten regional enterprises, with a total of 18,200 new energy vehicle-related enterprises.
