There were many cattle people who died young in the Three Kingdoms, but no one could compare with the great influence brought about by Sun Ce's sudden death. Sun Ce was the eldest son of Sun Jian, nicknamed "Little Bawang", and was one of the founders of Sun Wu. Sun Ce succumbed to Yuan Shu in order to inherit his father Sun Jian's legacy, and later turned to Jiangdong, and it took only three years to unify the Jiangdong region and complete the hegemony that Cao Cao Liu Bei had worked hard for half a lifetime.
However, in the 5th year of Jian'an, Sun Ce was injured by the Assassins and died at the age of twenty-six, and Jiangdong changed hands and entered the era of Sun Quan. The assassination of Sun Ce is one of the most puzzling mysteries in the Three Kingdoms. The process of assassination is much the same in historical records, and the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "Later Han Dynasty" written in the Jin Dynasty accurately record that Sun Ce was stabbed to death by a protégé of Wu County's Taishou Xugong.
Chen Shou's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms, The Tale of Sun Breaking the Rebellion" and Pei Song's Notes are more detailed, to the effect that Sun Ce killed Wu Jun's Taishou Xugong during his southern conquest of Jiangdong. Xu Gong's son and his protégés waited for revenge. Sun Ce went out hunting, because the horses were better, and one of the men ran away, leaving his entourage behind. Subsequently, Sun Ce met Xu Gongmen, who had been waiting for a long time, and was injured by him. Sun Ce's entourage then arrived and killed the Assassin.
However, this is not necessarily the truth of Sun Ce's death. Because there are many doubts about the assassination process: 1. Why did the Assassins "happen" to wait there, and how did they know that Sun Ce would run to that place? 2. As a prince of the party, security has always been very important, why did Sun Ce's entourage "just happen" to be left behind? 3. The retinue came up and killed all the assassins, so why not leave a living mouth to ask the mastermind behind the scenes?
If there are more than 2 coincidences in the same thing, it is not a coincidence, but a premeditated one. It can be seen that sun ce's assassination was not a simple chance encounter, but a premeditated calculation. So who is the mastermind behind the scenes? According to modern case trials, "Whoever benefits the most is the most suspicious." After Sun Ce's death, the two people who benefited the most were sun quan who succeeded Jiangdong; without worries, he could fully deal with Cao Cao at the Battle of Guandu.
Is it Sun Quan secretly plotting against his brother?
After Sun Ce's death, the biggest beneficiary was undoubtedly Sun Quan, and some people once "boldly" assumed that the murderer was Sun Quan! And listed the reasons: if it was not Sun Quan's plan, why did Xu Gongmen know exactly where and when Sun Ce was hunting? Why did the entourage fall behind and leave Sun Ce alone? But this is only an inference, and there is not the slightest certain evidence.
It can be said that the land of Jiangdong was completely fought by Sun Ce, Zhou Yu, Zhang Zhao, and other important ministers were all hand-picked by Sun Ce, and the generals zhu Zhi, Cheng Pu, Huang Gai, Han Dang, and other generals in the army were also only sun Ce's horse. Nonsense!
Sun Quan came to the fore when he was young, and his strategy surprised Sun Cedu and thought that he was inferior. Therefore, Sun Ce has said more than once that Sun Quan is set up as his successor, and every time he invites guests to a banquet, Sun Ce often turns back to Sun Quan and says, "These people will all be your subordinates in the future." Before Sun Ce died, he instructed Zhang Zhao and others to "help my brother." Then he handed the seal to Sun Quan and said the very famous sentence: "The people of Jiangdong are determined between the two fronts, and they are in a struggle with the world, and the secretary is not as good as me." At that time, Cao Cao was confronting Yuan Shao at Guandu, sun ce took the opportunity to prepare to cross the river to attack Xu Du, Cao Cao was worried when he received the news, but Guo Jia seemed to know that Sun Ce was about to die at the hands of the assassins. I have to say that this coincidence made Cao Cao's suspicions worse. Where did Guo Jia's prediction come from? Could it be that Cao Wei was in contact with Xu Gong's Assassins? There really is. Guangling Taishou Chen Deng was actually a neglected figure in sun ce's assassination.
The "Biography of Jiang Biao" records: "Guangling Taishou Chen Dengzhi Sheyang, Dengzhi Yuzhi from the brother also." Chen Deng actually had a grudge with Sun Ce for a long time. Chen Deng's cousin Chen Yu once fought with Sun Ce, and as a result, his wife and children were all captured by Sun Ce, and Chen Deng had the intention of annexing Jiangdong early on. Chen Deng, who had been operating in the Jianghuai area for many years, "was very popular with Jiangsu and Huaijian", and twice defeated Sun Ce, forcing the latter to be unable to get out of Jiangdong, and the two could be described as bitter and bitter. In addition, if Sun Ce wanted to attack Xu Du and plot against the world, he would inevitably pass through Chen Deng's Guangling County, so Sun Ce would sooner or later have to fight Chen Deng to the death.
When Sun Ce went west into Jingzhou and beat Huang Zu to the ground, Guangling Taishou Chen Deng wreaked havoc in his rear. After Sun Ce defeated Huang Zu, he attacked Guangling Commandery( Guangling County, where Chen Deng was stationed. However, when Sun Ce's army arrived in Dantu, the grain ran out and he had to rest on the spot and wait for the grain and grass to arrive.
