As the Tang army continued to conquer Goguryeo, Xue Rengui played an important role, Xue Rengui wore a white battle robe, invincible, and the Goguryeo army was defeated and retreated, and the soldiers and civilians of the two cities abandoned the city and fled.
Later, it was the famous Three Arrows Dingtian Mountain. Because Hui was against Tang, Emperor Gaozong of Tang had Zheng Rentai and Xue Rengui attack Tianshan. Zheng Rentai and Xue Rengui led their army to the Tianshan Mountains, Xue Rengui fired three arrows in a row in front of the battle, each arrow shot a person, the rest of the soldiers were frightened by Xue Rengui's archery skills, and surrendered to the Tang army, at this time Xue Rengui took advantage of the victory to pursue and subdue Hui, so there was a saying in the army that three arrows were fixed on Tianshan.
The climax was the surrender of Goguryeo, and when Xue Rengui participated in the Goguryeo War, he divided the Goguryeo army into two stages of attack, killing more than 50,000 people and taking advantage of the victory to capture three cities. Emperor Gaozong of Tang also personally wrote a letter to Xue Rengui, saying that he rushed in front of the soldiers, disregarded his own life, and was invincible, so that the battle was quickly won.
Of course, his career was not smooth sailing, after entering the Army he was also exiled, but the reason for his exile, the history books do not clearly record, and later Tang Gaozong remembered his merits, and used him again, after Xue Rengui was ordered to conquer the Turks, the Turks knew that the general of the Tang army was Xue Rengui, they were all shocked, dismounted and fled, the expected Xue Rengui defeated the Turkic army, killed nearly 10,000 enemy troops, and won a complete victory.
Xue Rengui's life was dedicated to the battlefield, for the peace of the people of the Tang Dynasty, for the stability of the Tang rule, he threw his head and spilled his blood, leaving a heavy ink in the history books, after Xue Rengui's death, Tang Gaozong personally ordered the government to provide carriages and horses to escort his coffin back to his hometown, and his descendants also lived a rich life by virtue of his hard work for the Tang Dynasty.
