For example, the founding emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, after ascending the throne, actually wanted to replace the capital and build a palace in his hometown for several years, but because of the "curse", it was not completed, and the capital city was not realized.
But we can still see that they have made efforts to better change the status quo of society, and the emperor we are going to talk about today has led the Ming Dynasty through more than 160 years of time, and has beaten the Jianzhou Jurchen almost exterminated, but his reputation is not particularly large, and even many people do not know his existence. Today, we will walk into that history and understand the story behind him.
The first point: a brief description of Zhu Jianshen's experience
He was the eighth emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Jianshen. In fact, his path to the throne was very difficult and bumpy. After his father was captured alive by the Mongols, his uncle took advantage of the situation to become emperor and was naturally deposed. If his father could win the later seizure of power, he would have seized the throne, but unfortunately there was no victory.
In other words, it seems more difficult to regain the emperor's position. That is to say, after Zhu Jianshen ascended the throne, he deeply knew that this position came too much than difficult. After ascending to the throne, he worked extremely hard and set strict demands on himself. So that he can face the mess he has just taken over, so that he can remain calm and fearless.
In terms of inner anxiety, for example, he was able to cope with the rebellions and riots of millions of refugees. In addition, in the face of external forces, he could easily take the most powerful way to deal with the Mongol invasion and the rise of the Jurchens.
Perhaps some of his early experiences, deeply aware of the northern nomads and Mongols, are a part of the people who need special attention, after ascending the throne, the reuse of Wang Yue, and later he led the army to attack the Tatar rear camp. Even when he attacked, he did not attract much attention, and after their leader learned of the news, they had already taken their wives and children captive.
In the years he managed, the northern region was well suppressed and managed, and for a long time, the north gained a peaceful development environment. In fact, the stability of the border areas and the prosperity and development of the capital city have created a better external environment.
Second point: the reason for being disparaged
That is to say, such an emperor was not very famous in later generations, and the reason for this had something to do with weakening his strength. We often read a book that tells the story of the Ming Dynasty. In the book, some of his contributions are clearly omitted and simplified.
But the real him is not such an image. At that time, he not only allowed the rapid development of commerce and handicrafts in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, but also opened up a political path to reduce taxes. There is no description of the great achievements of his youth. On the contrary, in middle age, he trumpeted the absurdity of his favor for the Wan family, crowned eunuchs and traitors such as Wang Zhi, Liang Fang, and Wan An, and made his image completely become "Emperor Xia".
That is to say, in later generations, the emperor was written as a person who was completely unrecognizable and did not even have much achievement. Perhaps after most people read it, they will simply think that this is a faint prince.
The reason is that in the case of some people who have their own preferences, they do not have an objective attitude towards historical figures, which makes us analyze a historical figure again with a very huge deviation. Of course, this also gives us a wake-up call, how to maintain an objective and fair attitude when looking at a thing or a historical figure is a very necessary and important content.
It was this one who changed the turbulent times of the past and created a new environment for the development of the Ming Dynasty. For us, how to correctly judge historical figures and evaluate them objectively and fairly is a complicated matter, and it is also a point that we need to master in our later study and life.
