And Feng Yuxiang could have been the same as Yan Xishan, with his own acre and three points of land, can sit firmly in the northwest, but in the end Feng Yuxiang did not, not because he did not have the ability, but because he had advanced ideas, for example, during Sun Yat-sen's Northern Expedition, Yan Xishan refused without saying a word, on the contrary, Feng Yuxiang, he was very supportive of Sun Yat-sen, which was the biggest difference between him and Yan Xishan.
Feng Yuxiang did not only care about his own interests like Yan Xishan, he followed Sun Yat-sen and was also very faithful to the Three People's Principles. Therefore, he did his best to contribute to Sun Yat-sen's Northern Expedition, and in the three years from 1925 to 1928, he resisted the attacks of the warlords of his direct lineage and the warlords of the Feng clan, and almost fell into a situation of total annihilation. Under such circumstances, the Guangdong government was also unable to support him, Feng Yuxiang did not have to live such a difficult life, the position of the King of the Northwest was his, but he chose to do so, proving his pursuit of the Three People's Principles.
As for the later, Feng Yuxiang chose to defect to the Communist Party and oppose Chiang Kai-shek, which was also a cause. First of all, Chiang Kai-shek's path in the past twenty years or so has been very different from the path taken by Sun Yat-sen, and under such circumstances, Feng Yuxiang was naturally disappointed in the rightists. Feng Yuxiang was a very thoughtful person, and his heart was always toward Sun Yat-sen, so even if Cao Kun was good to him, he had to choose a mutiny. But Feng Yuxiang was not such a cruel person, he just thought that he could get Cao Kun to step down, and he didn't want to kill him.
During the Beiyang government, Feng Yuxiang chose to defect many times, for example, when he was ordered to go south to fight the southern army, he suddenly stopped his troops at the place of Wuxue and did not move forward, thus breaking the deployment of the Beiyang government, and for example, in the second Zhifeng War, he suddenly returned to Beijing, which finally caused the feng army to successfully enter Guannei, which eventually led to the Republic of China falling into an unprecedented fragmentation situation, and there were also many bandits and military disasters. These things he did gave him a stereotype of his image in everyone's mind.
The reason why Feng Yuxiang has such a bad impression in everyone's minds is first of all that he jumped up and down in Cao Kun's election, which is very unconvincing from the perspective of old morality. The second point is that he promoted Guo Songling to send troops to rebel against the Feng army, but after that, he did not take any measures, but sat back and watched Guo Songling's results, which eventually led to the death of both Guo Songling and his wife, which not only greatly reduced his reputation in the Kuomintang, but also caused negative public opinion in society.
